I have recently started playing FPS, mainly multiplayer and i am enjoying it a lot. The problem is, when i try the single player i find it MEGA boring!

I tried Killzone 3 and Battlefield 3 single player, but after 3 or 4 checkpoints i just find it boring and not worth it. (Dust 514 being only MP doesnt suffer from this)

But i hear a lot of praise for Bioshock Infinite and since it has no MP, is the SP as boring as the SP in these games?

I dont like being forced into a linear path and being forced to use specific weapons for specific parts of games (like Killzone 3, one part sniper only, then mech only)

Honestly, I would pick up the first bioshock on the cheap and try out the series. Infinite is a better game 'technically' speaking, but I enjoyed the first one more. They are both fairly linear as far as the overall path, but they leave the options of how to fight pretty open (what vigors and guns to use).

Bioshock Infinite isn't praised for its gameplay, only for its story and atmosphere. So nope, its better to just skip it, try the 1st 2 Bioshock Games, Far Cry, Crysis or F.E.A.R. Hell you can even give BulletStorm a shot. Those are the FPS's with interesting Single Player Campaigns, especially Bioshock 2, Crysis (any of them) and Far Cry 3 because they have unparralleled Strategic Freedom.

The comparison between KZ3, BF3, and Bioshock Infinite is laughable.  The former 2 have joke SP portions in comparison.

Bioshock Infinite is far more nuanced and has content within its narrative that engages the player far beyond your traditional shooter campaign.  Albeit, if you can't interface with story, character development, and world-building, then it's likely not the game for you.  The gunplay isn't radically original, but the ability to use vigors livens up the feel and the style is fresh.

Give it a rental at least.  There's a reason it has a higher score than either KZ3 or BF3 on metacritic and has been touted as the "Citizen Kane" moment of gaming (all that said, it's best on PC).

Basically this. At least give it a chance, especially if you like a game with good storytelling and characters. I find most FPS campaigns to get dull as well, but this isn't your typical FPS. I can't guarantee you won't get bored with some of the firefights, but it's not like most FPS where there's a short burst of narration then more dull shooting shortly after. It's more balanced in that respect I would say, plus the gameplay is pretty fun what with the powers and whatnot.

Kill zones and battlefield are games that focus more on the online multiplayer. On the other hand bioshock doesn't even offer one, instead it provides one o the best story line of any game in years. So if you are just looking for a better story go bioshock.

If you enjoy a story driven game, then the Bioshock series is right down your alleyway. :) You can't go wrong with Bioshock, especially the first one. You should at least give it a try before you shut it down completely... who know, maybe you'll like it :D

If you want a good single player FPS then you should go with these 4:

1) Far Cry 3

2) Far Cry Blood Dragon

3) RAGE Anarchy Edition

4) Singularity

EDIT: Forgot to mention Resistance 3. It has a pretty good campaign. Decent story while having a good gun upgrade system and gameplay. And Call of Juarez Gunslinger was a really good FPS also.

So really there are 6 awesome single player FPS you should check out.

BioShock: Infinite is one of the finest examples of a quality video game. 5 years from now, people will look back and realize how incredible this game is.

I've always found the Borderlands series to be quite an enjoyable singleplayer experience.
