So I have not migrated to ps4 yet I only recently (FEB) moved from ps2 to ps3 so I've played a hand full of games on ps3 and find though the graphics are better I just feel the ps2 games had more of A fun factor.I always loved playing NFS most wanted on ps3 I also enjoyed Juiced as far as arcade racers go so I went down to my local gamestop and picked up first Burnout paradise(hated it nothing like the older burnout games) so I swapped that out (at gamestop you have a week to exchange used games)I swapped that out for NFS Hot pursuit and NFS most wanted.

Let me say I was very dissapointed with both games as far as racers go the games are really good but again the fun factor things I loved about 2005 NFSMW that were not in the newer version

Big blacklist 15 compared to 10

You earned each new car you were not just given them

Speed breakers and being able to take cops out with the environment

an actual storyline albeit not anything to write home about but it did have cut scenes, text msgs etc.etc.

Hide-outs for when the heat got too hot and you customized your vehicle as you progressed through the open world which the older version I found to be more fun.

the cops actually had an identity(Cross)

So these are the main points but there is others that make it a bit less enjoyable

Hot pursuit was a bit better than the newer version of MW maybe I did not play them long enough or go deeper into the games but they just felt totally different than the older NFS games which I enjoyed alot.

Juiced I know they do not make this for the ps3 another Arcade racer that I really enjoyed the main goal was to earn respect to be able to race on other racers tracks as well as form teams and do team racing again though the graphics were not the greatest the fun factor was very high. You actually had to spend money to fix your car before you could race again now all you do is drive through A repair shop and poof you are magically fixed.it takes the fun and strategy out of things.

So here are some games that I am thinking about getting having never played them just looking for some opinions from those who have if they may come close to the older version of NFSMW and/or Juiced or any suggestions would be appreciated

Midnight club LA

NFS Rivals (Though its A NFS game it does promote that its A mix between hot pursuit & MW)

Driver SF (I really enjoyed driver on the old systems is it similar to the older versions)

Test Drive (another game I played on the older system not sure how it relates to the newer or I should say ps3)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated I am looking For A fun factor over blow away graphics something with somewhat of A storyline I don't care for grand theft auto type games.I am looking for A Fun arcade racer with somewhat of A storyline where you slowly build your car and rise to the top or have A set of goals.Good cop chases are not A must but preferred using the environment like in 2005 MW is ideal.

Thanks again for any opinions or thoughts you guys may be able to share.

Not sure if those suggestions were meant to be serious or not as they are very cartoonish kart racing games but they do look entertaining.I was really looking for a game like 2005's most wanted but those kart racing games look like alot of fun.Something I would have alot of fun playing with my nephew or even my daughter once she gets a little older.

I know there is alot of haters on NFS undercover but I wound up bringing back my Hot Pursuit and Most wanted 2012 last night to game stop and getting Undercover and Midnight club LA even swap out.I played undercover last night and though its A far cry from 2005's most wanted.Even though the graphics were not as crisp I enjoyed plying it alot more than the criterion Hot pursuit or Most wanted.

I have not downloaded Midnight club LA yet but from what I've read so far I think I may be happy with it.

Thanks for your suggestions, those games do look fun not really what I was looking for but after watching some clips of them on you tube I may give one of them A try!

Gran turismo is an awesome game I prefer arcade racers over simulation but if I was into Simulation games Gran turismo would be A game I would have to add to my library.

When I saw MW for the ps3 I was hoping it was new and improved over the already great 2005 version but it was completely different what A disapointment.I could download the 2005 version from gamestop but I already have it for my ps2 so if I really had the deep desire to play it again I could always hook my ps2 back up I can't see the downloaded version being much different than the original ps2 version why pay 30$ for something I already have.

I was looking for something similar I could play on ps3 thats why I got undercover and MC LA yesterday.I like the pursuit breakers in MW which left me with 3 choices on the ps3 Carbon,Undercover and I want to say pro-street (not positive on this one) reading everything It sounded like undercover was the closest to MW which I loved.

I recently just picked up ps3 when I say recent February I kind of skipped A whole generation of gaming I went and got myself married, bought a house and had A child so until last year I was out of the gaming scene for some time just no time with A house to pay for and A toddler to care for so I went back to my ps2 for A bit.I figured being I skipped A whole generation I got A ps3 on the cheap and I would have an infinite library of games to choose from until I was ready to pull the trigger on the more $$ xbox one or ps4.

To be honest with you I am not sure if its the same for those systems as well but even though there is A ton of games for xbox & ps3 I find the fun factor is not as much for the games on ps3 the ps2 games were alot more fun.Albeit its A very small sample size as I have not played A whole lot of games on the ps3 I did the whole God of war series every game from ghost of sparta through GW3.I played ssx tricky as well not A whole lot more so I figured NFSMW would be a homerun on A better system not realizing it changed as much as it did.

so for now I'm trying to find good fun games for the ps3 I am sure they are out there I just have to find them there were so many fun games I enjoyed playing on the ps2 Crazy taxi, def jam fight for NY,NFSMW,Fight night Round?,just to name a few I miss summer heat beach volleyball which I think was on ps1,Dynasty Warriors, soul caliber.

How is Dynasty 7 & SC IV & V for ps3?

So I just wanted to post an update I downloaded Midnight club L.A complete edition last night and gave that A whirl and I really like it alot.its not NFSMW 2005 but it is A very Fun game the cop chasing again are not like in MW but they do add an element to the game and as others have said they are tough to shake which honestly I really don't mind too much as it does give you A bit of A challenge I have not gotten too far into the game but I am enjoying it.

The streets are alot narrower than the NFS games so collisions are really hard to avoid but thats what I think makes the game fun & challenging the rubber band effect does seem A little bit more pronounced than the NFS games but I can be wrong. If there were pursuit breakers and you could use the environment to take out the cops that would make the game all that much more fun.

As far as the track goes the road Markers are sometimes hard to see and I've already missed A couple of turns but otherwise its A fun racing game.I have not really customized anything yet but from what I can see the customization is very in depth and extensive.

Again I have not been playing it long only for about an hour or so but I like the fact that you don't earn A whole lot for winning races which makes it strategic as well as challenging when you want to customize your vehicle and purchase new ones. The Cutscenes though I've only saw A couple are nothing to write home about but it does bring A certain amount of entertainment which I do like as well as the in game messages which I enjoyed in MW 2005.

For those that have played do the cops lay out Spike strips and have helicopters like in MW'd?The nitrous takes a little getting used to but all in all Its A really fun game if I can't play MW 2005 on my ps3 at least this game gives me alot of what made MW'd so much fun to play.

If youre really into racing games, getting an Xbox One purely for that reason would make sense. It can play the entire Forza Horizon series, and Forza 5 and 6. Thats 5 good/great racing games right there.

From what i've heard, not personal experience, most of the racing games available on the PS4 have been a disappointment so far.

How is Dynasty 7 & SC IV & V for ps3?

I kind of play A variety of games right now racing games are my niche A month from now I may dive into Dynasty warriors/Soul Caliber or Fifa soccer.I may even try the twisted metal for ps3 I think its going to be A little bit before I get another system so I am feeling my way through the ps3 right now experimenting with games I am familar with that I enjoyed playing on the ps2 like I mentioned earlier in my post I skipped the whole PS3 generation so I'm going to be playing PS3 for some time.I was never big into online gaming so thats the only thing that would probably be lacking with sticking with the PS3 for now.Down the road I will eventually upgrade to an Xbox one or ps4 but with an endless library of games for dirt cheap I will probably be sticking with the ps3 for A while.

Thanks for the suggestion and input though I am going to hold off on upgrading for Awhile I apprciate your opinion(s)

@magic8: Juiced is cartoonish...

And only real world cars constitutes a "fun" game.

CHECK

Get your head out of your ass and try different games, or create a time-machine and go back to 2005.

Your a fucking moron...

I was the one that recommended LBP karting and Modnation racers, you just straight-out dismissed them for not being like MW 2005.

Then @nathanbats came along and also recommended MDR and now your like "oooo 2 people recommending that, must be good"

Also, learn to use the "Reply" button, or people don't get notifications.

Need for Speed Carbon is very similar to Most Wanted 2005. Came out in 2006, and you could find it on PS2 or PS3. It's still kind of expensive on PS3, but it's prettier.

Driver San Francisco is great, but nothing like the old Driver games. You play a ghost who can posses people and drive any car you see. The goal is to hunt down the people that killed you.

My personal favorite PS3 racers would be Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Split/Second. Motorstorm is an over the top off-road racing game, and Split/Second has you race through movie sets as buildings collapse and planes crash. Nothing like NFS, but lots of fun.

You might want to try the Motorstorm series. I have heard good things about Split Second as well. Blur had mixed reviews when that game came out, but people who play it said they had a good time. Ridge Racer Unbounded is also a game that you might want to check out. This game plays closer to a Need for Speed game than a Ridge Racer title. Soul Calibur on PS3 is very bare bones when it comes to singleplayer content. People did not like the new characters in Soul Calibur 5. Both games are cheap as can be though.

This.

Also try Burnout Paradise, Wipeout HD, Pure, Need For Speed Most Wanted, Sega All Star Racing Transformed, Dirt 3 and Test Drive Unlimited 2.
