I am planning on buying a PS3 60gb soon before holiday sales. I will definetly appreciate if you ppl can help me out with these ?s:

1)Is the 60gb worth for $500?

2)Can it play PS1&2 games or is it the 80gb?

3)What top 3 games would you recommend?

4)Does ur HDD fill up quickly in terms of saved games. I hear u can swap for bigger HDD but I was wondering if there wouldbetrouble in the long run with space?

1) Yes

2) Both can. The 60GB one (assuming it contains the EE...some of the newer 60GB models don't have EE) can play more without a hitch.

3) Warhawk, Oblivion, hmm...not sure what else is coming out but there's a pretty decent list coming around the holiday season so I'd wait and see what's popular

4) It doesn't fill up that quickly but like you said, you can very easily swap for a much bigger HDD. You can use any 2.5" laptop drive (instead of the proprietary trash other companies make you pay for) and the process is quite simple.

I think so, plus it has the emotion engine for PS1/2 games. The 80gb uses software emulation.

WarHawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Oblivion (RPG), Heavenly Sword, R:FOM.

As for the HDD, you can swap it with a standard laptop HD.

How do you tell if your 60gb has EE? I bought mine about 4 months ago, wondering if I have it.

1. 60gb is 600 dollars.

2. Yeah, you can. better buy the 60gig version, because this one has the Emotion Engine, so you'll have better chances to play PS2 and PS1 games with out any problems.

3. Ghost Recon, Rainbow six, Heavenly Sword, DiRT, The Darkness, Tekken 5: Online, Resistence.

If you bought the American 60gig PS3, then it has it. But, if you bought the European one, then no.

1)Is the 60gb worth for $500? It is worth the $600 it was originally

2)Can it play PS1&2 games or is it the 80gb? Both play PS1/2 games but the 60GB has the EE chipset which allows it to play 85-90% and 80 GB only plays about 70-75%

3)What top 3 games would you recommend? Resistance, Warhawk, Rainbow 6

4)Does ur HDD fill up quickly in terms of saved games. I hear u can swap for bigger HDD but I was wondering if there wouldbetrouble in the long run with space? No, it will last you a good while and if you do fill it up quickly you can alwasy back up the files and install a bigger HDD

i have 4 games, 6 d/l games, about 20 trailers, 300 pictures, a few songs, and other misc stuff and i still have about 35gigs left

1-yes

2-yes

3- Warhawk if you have online, The Darkness, Resistance, Motorstorm if you have online, Stardust from the PS store.

4- Any time you want to you can undo 3 screws and swap it out for a biggerHDD. I paid $99 for a 120gb. It must be a 2.5" SATA 2500 RPM. Google PS3 compatibleharddrives. But 60gb should last you a long time.

There was a rumor posted that stated all 60GB units manufactured after April 2007 didn't contain the EE chip but again, it's just a rumor. Not sure if there's any other way to verify this.
