hey guys, its been a pretty good while sence i got a new game and im getting that itch lol. im thinking of dead island or mass effect 2 or 3. What do u guys think? i love the idea of dead island, the whole fighting zombies and servival thing and of course i love walking dead TV series ;) but i heard the game was only so so in quality, i know almost nothing about the ME games other than they seem to be pretty popular and there some sorta space rpg/shooter blend. has the dead island game gotten any better with patchs? Are the ME games as good as there popularity suggest?

Mass Effect 2. It has a comic that kinda explains VERY briefly what happened in 1 so you won't get lost too much. Getting 3 without 2, well... you'll be lost.

Dead Island was very boring. I played it for 2 hours and couldn't stand a single more minute.

Never played Dead Island but I heard it was boring but ok for co op. I played the Mass Effect demos and I honestly don't understand the admiration of the series. The story seems interesting, but the gameplay is extremely dull. If you are looking for a sci fi game with good story and action get Deus Ex: Human Revolution! The gameplay is fun because you can choose how you want to play it with stealth or guns blazing. The story is really cool too. They are working on a movie for it as we speak :P

Out of those games, get Mass Effect 2. Definitely don't start with 3, or nothing will be impactful or really make much sense. Fun games with exceptional stories, and one of the most ambitious endeavors applied towards player choice. 2 is my personal favorite, but 3 is the best in terms of sheer gameplay. I also second the Deus Ex Human Revolution recommendation. It's tied with Batman Arkham City for my favorite games of this generation. It has by far the best sense of place and atmosphere than any game I've yet experienced. The gameplay is impeccable as well, with tons of ways to get to your goal. Non-lethal, lethal, stealth, guns-blazing, you name it.

I'd go with Dead Island. A zombie charges you and you swing a buzzsaw at their head and decapitate them. What's sweeter than that?

As for ME2 - I wasn't impressed with that I've played as it all seemed pretty linear.

EB/Gamestop will be having the Dead Island edition all the DLC for $19.99 soon and that's a great deal for a great game in my opinion.

Dead Island is a great RPG. It has some flaws, but otherwise it's an addicting, gory and incredibly fun game on a tropical island full of zombies and unique weapons to create.

In case you buy ME2 keep in mind that the Cerberus Pack has expired since the beggining of the year and for the optimal experience you may need to pay an additional $15 so you can pick up the Cerberus Network and the Arrival DLC that are story-essential
