Netflix DVD business

I love my PS3, but I have a quick question, is there a firmware update coming soon, so that I don't have to use the Netflix DVD to stream content?

...bump, I'm just curious, because I'm about to trade in the 360, and want to know if this is something that will be happening anytime soon...

JUST call and get the disk....it will be at your house in 2-3 days.....STILL dont understand why we need a streaming disk.....but so far the quality has been good, stream is perfect,,,but the selection is alittle wacky.

I rey hope they step up the streaming collection.....

They send you a disc if you meet this criteria:

To watch instantly on your PS3™ system, you need the following:

• A high speed Internet connection
• A Netflix unlimited plan

You have to get the disc and have it in the blu ray drive every time you want to use netflix on the ps3. I stream HD wireless on mine and it does great, just like the 360. Hopefully the update to have it installed on the hddwill be coming out soon.

Just get the disc. It works fine. The selection sucks but just log on to nexflix and add movies to your que from there.

Yeha the disc is perfectly fine for me. And people complain about the selection but I think its ok. I get 2 discs a week through mail and use the streaming to supplement that. So selection isn't really a big deal to me. And actually I mostly use treaming to watch tv shows anyway which is way more convinient this way since i don't have to wait 3 days to get the next disc in the series. I've watched 5 seasons of the office, a bunch of South Park, started watching legend of the Seeker, and soon Dexter and The Tudors. All shows that I wouldn't normally watch because the timing isn't convinient or I would miss episodes.

Ummm.. yeah, I already stream Netflix content, everyone says get the disc, which I already have, I was asking if any one knew if PS3 would be able to stream without the disc sooner or later, that's all :|

there is an update comming out soon an in gameinformer they had a little piece on netflix an the dvd for ps3 they will have a update comming soon dont know when but it will be out soon
