I am new to the whole online video streaming with playstation. I am not going to have any source of television except for my ps3. I wanna be able to watch movies that are fairly new. Which service will provide beter entertainment for my needs. I have seen netflix but the canadian store seems to lack. Is there any chance that it will change in the near future? What is hulu like for movies? from my understanding they are more about there television shows. How recent are hulu television shows posted? Are they episodes from the night before or how does that work. Thanks

Well you should be able to check out the free version of Hulu right? Or is it different for Canada? But yeah if you are looking for movies go for Netflix, TV shows go for Hulu. Both have good players and UI systems.

I went with Netflix because the majority of the shows I would want to watch (which isn't many) I could stream off their website.

Netflix, without question. The two aren't even close in terms of content and reliable service. Netflix's buffering is better, their content is un-editted and commercial free... Go with Netflix.

Agreed completely. The only reason I can think of to justify Hulu Plus is if you must watch modern shows the week they are shown. Netflix has them beat in everything else.

Hulu Plus is terrible. I subscribed the first day it came out when I did not need PS+ and cancelled it a hour later. First I had a bunch of shows that I subscribed too. When I went into the PS3 Hulu App it said that I had zero shows. Then I searched for one of them and they were web only. I though I would be able to stream anyshow. If I have to watch the show on my computer than that defeats the purpose of the PS3 and iPhone app. Netflix any show that you can watch on the computer you can stream on your PS3 and iPhone.

So I was not pleased about that and then I decided to add what little shows they had. Well first of the all the ads are the most annoying thing ever. I pay for a service I should not have to sit though the same amount of ads as the free service. I tried watching a 20 minute cartoon with three one minute ad breaks and I got discusted with the entire thing and cancelled.

They promised me a four dollar credit which I never got for signing up early. They are nothing but a bunch of crooks.

this nails it right on the head; as far as content is concerned, Netflix is king. it has Battlestar Gallactica, LOST, The Office, Arrested Development as well as a butt-load of movies. hulu on the other hand, has newer shows right away such as Modern Family, but it's literally the same service from your computer. there's still commercials and their legacy tv shows were lacking. there was a lot of good stuff, but not enough to pay and still have to deal with commercials.
