I just got my PS3 on Friday and I have been frustrated ever since. For some reason I'm constantly being disconnected from my access point. I don't know if this is a problem with my router or what but it is starting to get annoying. Does anyone know what I can do to my router because it seems like the connection is weak but when I'm using my PC, 360 or my Wii I don't have this problem at all.

So you're using Wifi? Wifi has alot of problems, I'm reading, it's definitely not your PS3, it has to be your router. What router do you have?

Depends on what the ports are for the applications you're using, linksys is very secure.

I have Linksys too, but I have a lot of things changed for PS3 optimization :). I usually don't encounter a whole lot of errors. The only thing that frustrates me is when logging in my router reboots itself, and logs me in and out rapidly.

Most routers such as the WRT54G have had a frimware upgrade as of June 2, 2007. Try upgrading your router firmware if it needs it.

What kind of router do you have? I'll see if I can send you a link to the Firmware page.

There is the link to the your router. However, its extremely important that you get the correct version number from the drop bar or else your router will not work, it is found next to the model number on the bottom of your router.

What will happen is it will download to your default folder or to your desktop where you normally download things. This file is made to not be read so don't modify it or try to view it.

You need to then go into your router and go to administration then go to firmware, hit search find where you put the file then click it. It is also very important not to turn off your router at this point it only takes a few minutes to do.
