I am never going to buy an insomniac game ever again! I got Resistance 2 when it launch November 4. I enjoyed playing the campaign but once I wanted to go on-line to play co-op or competitive. I get nothing but the disconnection screen, I press X on play, find game, or create it responds by telling me disconnecting for the network. Sometimes I finally get into a game but about half way though it freezes and I get disconnected.

I tried everything in my power to fix the problem on my end. I even called my ISP to see if there might be a problem there. They just pointed at Sony. So I call Sony and they just point a my ISP. Now I stuck in the middle with game that doesn't work and I cant send it back to the manufacturer.

Anybody else experiancing similiar experiances?

Ok... tell me what I could do. I have 25 PS3 games that work well online with little or no lag. Why does this one not work?

Reset your router/modem  then there shouldn't be many reasons for it not to work... are you NAT Type 2? what other games do you play online?

Lets see:

Call of duty 4, Warhawk, Soul caliber, Orange box, burnout Paradise, GTA4. Those are the only ones I can think on the top of head that have no issues

Hmm.. thats odd... if you're able to play all those than I see no reason why R2 shouldn't work... try resetting your router/modem like a said earlier... other than that i guess you could try putting your router in a DMZ... I'm too tired to think of anythign else... sorry i couldn't see this through to the end but its 3 am and i gotta wake up really early... so good luck

Same thing happened to me, only it was an Xbox 360 game (Halo 3, how lucky). Only game that wouldn't work online.

Its not the game, its your connection.

I have been having occasional connection problems with R2. Just be patient. I'm sure they are ironing things out connection wise. Whenever I have connection problems I either go back to the single player arcade mode or pop in CoD: WaW...

It is not your connection or your fault because Im having the same problem and so are many others. I wouldnt go as far as never by another insomniac game but you have every right to be mad. Im assuming that they are working on a patch but if one doesnt come than screw em. All my other games work just fine too

i have experienced a few disconnect messages but its really not that bad at all.  typically what i end up doing is playing the campain for 10 minutes or so and when im done the online works again.

try plugging directly into your cable modem and if it works that way then you know its not your router

It's more than likely that Insomniac is updating, fixing, repairing the servers. There have been times when I try to log on and I'm not able to. And it's not my connection as I am able to play any of my other games. But if I wait some and then try logging on later it will let me. Again, I just assumed they're doing server maintenance at those times I'm not able to log on. They probably are experiencing issues they didn't expect. Still, Insomniac doing server maintenance isn't enough to justify not buying their games anymore.

It's not necessarily his fault, but I do agree that it's most likely that the problem is at his end and it's probably a little OTT to say he'd never buy another Insomniac game (he'd also be missing out on loads of great future games).

It has to be a problem from your side mate, R2 is one of those rare games that really shine on online.

I have yet to experience any kind of lag, Insomniac did a fantastic job. I hope you get your ISP to work properly soon. ;)

Sounds more like user error. Taking that one a little to far huh? just sit back, grab a beer and throw money at it, that always solves my problems, especially computer related issues.

I thought you were gonna say you aren't gonna buy anymore Insomniac games because they only know how to do one thing. Make games about guns that have weird and insane functions.

its not his fault at all. i have similar problems although not as frequent. there seems to be 10 threads a day on this so to blame his connection is ludacris. r2 is the only game that i have connection troubles with and pretty much all i ever do is play online.
