Any ways I'm furious on Sony's choices. They keep making us confused and like WTF. I just bought my 40GB i love it. Got it for $420 Dollars with tax. And then , They just released a 80GB for $400??? Is it the same 80GB or is it just a 40GB PS3 with 40GB more space. Because I am really pissed off. Just need confirmation. Does the new 80GB allow backwards compatability?

Thanks

The 80gb models sold now do not have backwards compatability.

There may be a few on the internet you can fidn with it, but Sony's ceased production of these models.

you got hosed unfortunately... the new 80gb is of course twice the HDD space (which considering all the games with required installation at 5gb, is really useful).. it also comes with a dual shock controller instead of the regular one yours came with. If you got your ps3 in the last 30 days, I'd return it and get the other one.

Sony is really taking the piss this gen

Yes, It is exactly the same thing as the 40GB with a larger harddrive.

Try games like God of War, God of War 2, Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2, Okami, MGS2, MGS3, etc since they all work ... in fact if your 80gb+MGS4(or Motorstorm) bundle should play 75% of PS2 games.
