New battery for old PSPs?

Has any announcement been made about the better battery being released for old PSP users, or actually whether or not it'll even fit in an old PSP

Its not that its a better battery, its just that the PSP consumes less power. The PSP's battery right now is 1800mah, while the pictures of the slim psp show a 1200mah battery (the battery is also smaller I believe)...so using it in your old PSP would only give you 2/3 the battery life I suppose.

You can already buy longer lasting third party batteries for the PSP, gah.
