I don't think blu-ray or hddvd has anything to do with the length or size of a game, look at oblivion. Thats a long long very long game and it's the same of both systems and the PC. And mass effect is going to be a monster of a game and it's on the 360 also. So just because DMC4 is going multiplatform, doesn't mean it's going to be a shorter game, it's probably going to be up to capcom on the length of the game. Plus, GeOW is not a six hour game, if you played it and beat it on the normal or hard level, you would know that.Â
Go read Ratchet and Clank's creator's blog on whether Blue-ray has anything to do with the length or size of a game or not. Oblivion is long because it made the world huge by repeatedly usnig the same code to generate the same thing. Put it this way, say, you draw a building on your computer, which takes 50KB of space. Now you expands the same building over 1000 times mathmatically, you probably still use that 50KB of space. The upside of this is that you got 1000 buildings with very small disk space, the downside is that you got 1000 same buildings.
 Look oblivion, its sheer size is the thing that made people drooling over, but if you just cut a piece of it, it's nothing special comparing to some more graphical advanced games. The reason to this is that Oblivion uses the same object (say a tree) over and over again, so they all look alike.
There's a valid reason why gears of war was so short you know...
 Beating a game on hard level is of course always going to take a lot of time, because you die all the time and have to restart. But that doesn't mean the game is longer, it's just you spent more time on the same place fighting the same enemies. The only way to correctly measure the length of a game is if you play it on easy mode, and count the time it will take you through all the levels MINUS all the time you spent backtracking, dying and replaying.
yup that is way it says load area every 50 feet and that is way you don't see a building in the distance until you get close and it appears in frount uof your eyes. i still loving the game though. that is also way if you look at a map of oblivion there sectors (sections) everything in that section looks the same. it is really like 6 levels that are stretch out.
