Wow i just read that on Gamespot and i was amazed! that update is a really great one.. large amount of new avatars, new dynamic theme setting, new playstation store easy navigation style, new What's New Tab added to the XMB, new message notification box (AWESOME), new background sparkling effects beside the normal one and now sony will be selling special avatars from the playstation store. (If i forgot something plz add :) ) The update is set to launch "Shortly, very, very shortly" according to John Koller (SCEA director of hardware marketing). So ye plz tell me what u think.. Thanks :)
The avatars will be welcome for sure, thats one thing i wanted. Now i just would like a software emulation update for PS2 games and cross game chat and i would be very happy.
Well on the video he said there are more in the update so maybe it dose have it but didnt say to make it a surprise i dont know but oh well i wont complain as we get those updates for free and i like them
Any update is a plus including this one. I just wait and enjoy what is released in the updates when they come. I remember back in the begining for a while there was a update just about every tuesday.

The features they haven't announced are probably just minor updates to fix certain games and add some new settings, thats all...
The right hand stuff is good, and the "what's new" is for casual gamers imo it's a smart move because now that PS3 is $299 a lot of casual gamers will pick it up so it's definately gonna help them understood what's in gaming and the backgrounds are cool for everyone it adds a new style and look to PSN on top of that they fixed the clock issue and stuff so that's always a plus!

I think it's kind of different. I think Sony wants to keep everything on PSN Sony brand only. Besides, giving people the opportunity to upload their own pictures will lead to people posting things they shouldn't. I'm not saying you would but there are people like that out there and I'm sure Sony doesn't have the time to have to deal with something like that.

ya i think it must have to do with offending other users because you can upload any pic you want for your console profile avatar just not your psn avatar
