OMG joystiq is just as bad as 1up and kotaku. They just post BS. Sure a ptach is being worked out for the PC and 360 versions for the whole LOD thing, but they forgot to state that the normal graphical upgrades(the increase in texture res) will stay on the PS3 version. Plus the whole, "not enough memory" BS was already debunked by the IGN preview as well.
Can we get some links showing this to be false? I think Joystiq didn't do any of their own research and just put up what someone else had found. I did, however, listen to the 1up Yours podcast they used as their source last night, and they did say that the PS3 version of Oblivion would only be able to load one piece of downloadable content at a time. I listen to that show every week and the guys on it are knowledgeable. If there's an article here on Gamespot that disproves that, by all means post it.Â

It clearly states that the reason why the other downloadable content isn't available is becuase they're still working with the PS store to put it in there. You can only load one at a time? Those people at 1up are truly idiots.

You are wrong. Oblivion is an overrated game. Almost as overrated as halo 2:P
But not really giving effective comparison. The PS3 version will be superior than the 360 version but only by a relatively small amount. Your statement makes it sound like the 360 version is a far cry from the PS3 but they are both very similar. The PS3 version is better but not by enough to make it the "definitive" version.

I actually enjoyed it a lot. A large part of my amazement, however, is probably the VAST improvement over Morrowind's graphics, gameplay, and story flow. There is actually a semblance of focus in Oblivion.

There is actually a semblance of focus in Oblivion. compared to morrowind oblivion is nothing. It seriously does an injustice to the series. It's one of the most shallow games I've played. I mean almost everything in oblivion has been downgraded in comparison to morrowind.(execpt of course graphics and the battle system) The world is dull, the dungeons(and especially oblivion gates) are by far the most generic and repetitive areas I've seen in quite some time, plus monsters level with you! Although that last part I put is rather small(and luckily for me I can take it off since I have the PC version) but it's still one of the many things that just make the game nothing in comparison to morrowind. Sure the games open ended, but when the story is practically non-existent there isn't much of a drive for me to do anything.
Oblvion is amazing when you first begin playing it, but after a few good hours you put in you begin to realize just how generic and shallow the whole game world is.
The only reason why I even bother playing oblivion(I've unistalled the game many times) is because of the modding community. They've practically saved the game from its shallowness and made things interesting. I really don't know how people can even play the 360 and upcoming PS3 version without getting bored out of their minds by its repetitiveness. I just hope they don't do the same with fallout 3 or the next elder scrolls game.

actually load times are cut in half if not more on the ps3 so its 15 compared to 30
