Shell out the extra $50 for a new one. Sony does cover the PS3 for one year. If your system dies within the first year of purchase, you send it to them and they'll repair it or send you a new one. Used games are fine. I would avoid used systems.

i halfly agree on 2 posters here, since the 360 wii and ps3 are current i wouldnt buy em used just yet now if a system like nes- xbox were to go out on you ,, you have 0 choice maybe with ps2 but gc/xbox-nes would be used . i bought lots of used systems in the past and just recently the dreamcast,, they all worked fine

yeah, and also used sales only go to gamestop, ebgames, etc...so if your buying used product then your not supporting the game industry only the game RETAIL industry.

If you're already gonna spend 350, what's 50 dollars more? Specially with a one year warranty.

For the difference in the price the better deal would be the new system. The only time that a console would be a good buy used is if it was at least 50% of the retail price atthe time of purchase. This would mean that the used system would be a fair deal at about $200.00 or less.

buy the new system...then you can have your own fingerprints on the console instead of some idiot who had to get rid of his ps3
