The only extra component that I would purchase if I was you is an HDMI cable.
Now don't go spending all this extra money on Monster cables. Any HDMI cable will do the trick. I think I bought a nexxtech one for like 10-15 dollars and its like 10 ft long. Its money
I forgot to mention that the HDMI cable should only be purchased if you have an HDTV
This looks like a job for limeyman...(me).
Erm, no you don't need any other accessories apart from maybe a headset. Unless you've already got any type of bluetooth headset in your household. I would however (if you have an HDTV) highly recommend buying an HDMI cable, i got a gold wired one for £5 and it works great. You get the rechargable cord for charging the controllers, with the actual PS3. Also the built in wireless. So your set to go as soon as you buy really.
Trouble? Explain
1. A HDMI cable is a must and can be found at numerous online retailers for around $5.
2. If you enjoy FPS and MP, a headset would be a good idea.
3. Depending on which model you get (not sure if your looking at used ones) but the best time to upgrade the HD is when you first get the PS3.
Other than that, GAMES!!!! Enjoy:D
get triggers for your controllers. there essential for any PS3 gamer imo. there like plastic clip on's for the triggers, you can get them in gamestop. 2 sets for €4 i believe. but i get mine free cos i know the manager :)
Upgrade HD, what does that mean exactly??Trouble? Explain

[QUOTE="Reemer99"]Upgrade HD, what does that mean exactly?? You can buy and install bigger hard drives than what the sytem comes with. Many of my friends are running 500GB or larger. I use a 160GB and it works fine for me.Trouble? Explain

It means that you can buy and install a bigger HD, it is totally up to you if you need the space. For instance, you could buy the 120GB Slim and then buy a 250GB HD for around $50 and install it on your slim and have a extra 120GB HD laying around. If you don't want to mess with it, you can just buy the 250GB slim but both options would cost about the same and in one, you get an extra HD that you can turn into a external drive.
If you're running on an Hd tv, you can increase the graphics by going to 'Settings' then 'display settings' change RGB Full Range from 'limited to 'full' then change super white from 'off' to 'on' Also go to 'Game Settings' and turn the PS upscaler to full scale and smoothing to 'on' Then change the 'sharpness' settings on your 'tv' ALL the way UP. You can tinker with the rest of your tv's settings to your liking. Hope it helps :)
