New PS Any Time Soon? I Want to make SURE.....

I think i might get me a PS3 but i want to be SURE that a new PS isnt already on the way ( within the next 4 years or so ) I HOPE I DONT GET MODDED for this :cry: I didnt see any sticky threads for it :(

There hasn't been many hints and I doubt that a new PS would come anytime soon.

I wouldn't call 4 years from now "on the way". I'd get one if I were you. I can't imagine waiting four more years for the next PS to come out.

The Slim will be the new kid on the block for long enough to make it worth gettin one naow.

The next 4 years or so? That's just stupid. That's ages away, you're getting your moneys worth out of that, that's just a stupid excuse to not buy one.

Why dont people use their heads... This is just like Spam on the PSN. Easily disproven, if people just think about it.

Console generations have been proven to be around about 8-10 years apart. This has been stated by COUNTLESS people IN the development industry and who are "in the know" This generation is about 3 years old.... So taking this on board, then NO, no new next-nex gen consoles are expected ANYTIME soon.

Not to mention, we knew about the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii about 2-3 years BEFORE they were even released. So why would the new lot be any different? Hell i remember hearing about the ORIGINAL Xbox in the 90's

So the soonest im guessing we will get a new console (IF they announced it TODAY) is about 3-4 years... So unless you class 1095 days, 26 280 Hours or 1 576 800 Minutes soon, then NO. The "PS4", "Xbox 720" or "nintendo whatever" are not coming out soon....

Haha sorry for getting a bit agitated.. It just annoys me when people dont think for themselves, We were given a brain to be used, not abused. Haha. And thanks man, there more now, i just havent updated it yet :) im about 2 trophies off Platinum in Borderlands and 1 More off Plat in uncharted 2 :)

I think he means new model of the ps3 will be released, not a brand new console in general. In my opinion the slim series will be here for a while since it seems Sony has found a nice groove with its pricing and features, and they have a ps3commercial almost every ten minutes now which shows that they are really pushing this system, you did not see this much advertisement with any of the other ps3 models. I say go ahead and buy it.

Just think about it like this:
Sony has stated that they plan for a 10+ year development cycle for the ps3.
The ps2 isn't even done yet and its been 9 years for that console; think of how far the ps3 can go with new and upgraded technology.

The ps3 came out in late 2006, so its only been 3 years through its life. There's plenty of time before the next playstation.

we're not going to see a new console for another 4 years.

You are kidding yourself if you think there won't be a new PS within 4 years

Why you are worrying about that long period of time is beyond me
