That sounds like a very very nice selection. Once you get all the settings tweeked you will not be disapointed with the purchase. The main tweeks that seem to be over looked are on the TV and not so much as the PS3 itself.

I love my PS3. One of the it's assets is that it is a very good upconverter. The PQ of SD DVDs is beautiful. I have 32" and 37" LCDs. You may get more use out of the Blu-ray player than I do, since your TV is 52".

That's kinda hard to ansewer without knowing your taste in games. There are some demos you can download from the PS store that are playable that you can get a feel of some of these games before purchaseing them. Then there a few games that can be purchased from the PS store that are very good and can keep you busy for a little while. I downloaded Battlefield 1943 and it's been well worth the purchase for me. It's a WWII game based on the pacific theater of WWII.
The 1st game I bought for my ps3 was gta iv, then far cry 2 and killzone 2, granted the first too games are multiplats, but I bought my ps3 for viewing blu-ray movies, as well well as installing linux so I could use it as a cheap nettop to replace my ageing pentium 4 dell.
Enjoy your new purchases, I'm sure you would be able to find a game that looks very nice on the ps3 to start with. You might want to get the hdmi cable if you already haven't.
