New PS3 cost.

I've been reading all over on the release of the new 40GB PS3 that cost $399, is that excluding tax and roughly how much are the taxes in the US on electronics?

I'm wondering because it seems to me that the gap of prices on electonics equipment in US vs. EU keeps increasing. In $ the new 40GB PS3 costs ~$650 and the old 60GB lies at roughly $790, this is excluding everything. No HDMI-cables, no Blu-ray movies, no games, no extra controllers.

US tax varies.

In Missouri it's 8.075%

In Cali I think its like near 9%?? Not sure though.

I don't believe any of the US states surpass 10%.
