never ever buy another PS3 unless your old one breaks. The Slim will act just like your old one...

New TV all the way.

Why would you want to decide between two things you already have(?) If you have a PS3, you don't need another, it would be a waste of money. If you already have a TV, as long as it's half decent and HD, again, why would you need another? (unless for some reason it's like a living room "family" TV, in which case the extra one would mean you have a dedicated TV just for your PS3, that's understandable...). If however it's a TV already in your room and is HD and half decent, why bother getting another? It just seems silly to me....

Why don't you wait until the 3DS is out - take a look at one in the shop, and if you like, get that. At least it's something new for your gaming needs...

well i right now use the loungeroom TV to play ps3, and its full HD and everything. if i were to buy a TV it would haveto be full HD 1080p and atleast 32 inch as the very minimum, mainly looking at 40+ inch. and the reason i thought about the ps3 is because mine is region NTSCJ so it can play my japanese ps2 games and if that dies i will haveto buy a new ps3 aswell as a new ps2 from japan just to play japanese ps2 games. and the 3DS i thought it would be fun but i would only buy it for 1 or 2 games and thats it just like my wii. im not sure how far my ps3 is from its last play but i have had to reformat it beffore because all the data became corrupt and it didnt function, but now its working again but a bit slugish.

Do yourself a favour...take all the money you were going to get for a new PS3 or a new TV (which you already have both in working order) and put it towards a sweet stack of games!

Since you use the living room TV then, a new TV may be the way to go, but I wouldn't necessarily say that 32"+ is essential, depending on how far away you plan to sit. For me, I sit at a PC desk with a small 22" TV on, and it's perfect as I sit so close. The TV I use is a Sony KDL22PX300, which just happens to be a beautiful 1080p TV that has a PS2 built into the bottom of the TV stand (seriously, it's awesome and was a real find!). In your case, it would be perfect as you could use the dedicated PS2 for your localised games, and still enjoy the functionality of your existing PS3 for whatever PS2 stuff it can play. It cost the same as other TVs in the same size range really, so it seemed daft not to get it with the built in PS2.

You'll probably have some spends left over too for some games ;)
