New PS3 owner reporting in!

I just got my PS3 yesterday, hooked it up... had no games to play... So a good mate of mine, lent me 11 games of his, these were -

Dark Sector (american release, not available in Aus yet)

Soul Calibur 4

MGS4

Burnout Paradise

Haze

Uncharted

Conan

Devil may cry 4

Condemned 2

The Darkness

And 1 other that I can't think of at the moment lol. I wanted to borrow Mercenaries 2... But HE wanted to play it 'cause he only had it since yesterday, so I have to wait till this afternoon to borrow that one... Only 'cause he's going out of town :(

Heheheh.... So far I've only played Dark Sector and Soul Cal, and I'm loving it so far!!!!

Any other titles anyone can recommend?

Depends on the sort of games you like. For me I would recommend in a heart beat Heavenly Sword (short but still a very very good and fun game)

Game to advoid out of that lot Haze, I only played it for a day and i got rid of it. Worse game of the year bar none.

You should buy mercs 2, also get Resistance: Fall of ManTheSonOfUgly

I plan on it next week... I kinda spent all my money on the PS3 lol... And SW:Force Unleashed is out next week and that's a MUST BUY!!!

Your might wanna check out UT3, good fast paced FPS with M/K support, plus i think it had a price drop.

I have Assassin's Creed on 360 and it's pretty fun... But short lived... I finished it on 360, Got a bit boring and didn't like the fact that even though you're an assassin, you can't do a mission without being spotted ... LOL.

dont recommend buying asscreed(assassins creed) its fun when you play it the first time but then you look back and think "that wasnt very fun at all" its so repetitive . gameplay is pretty good but way to repetitive. graphics are good but colours are a little dull.

I recommend buying uncharted. its has trophies now , so that makes it even better. and it looks gorgeous on a HDTV.

Oh almost forgot here is a good list of games NOT to buy.

Assassins Creed, Lair, Haze, Spider Man, Conan and uhh...cant think of the others right now

MGS4, Uncharted, Warhawk, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Resistance, GTA4 (its ok), CoD4 and others I cant remember lol.

Well that's understandable, but MGS4 does away with a lot of things ppl didn't like about the old game. Now instead of the fixed camera you have full control. The shooting mechanics are also a lot more simple/mainstream then the old games. Even if you aren't a fan of stealth this game caters to the people that like action as well.

I have a feeling that if you give MGS4 a chance it probably wont leave your PS3 until you finish it. If there is any game out there that will WOW you this is the one.

I've already seen the ending sequence lol, but it confused the hell outta me cos i had no idea what was going on

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Its not the full game but (in my opinion) well worth the $30 I payed for it. Hell, the game is worth a rental just to gawk at the amazing graphics. Screenshots i took:

Warhawk- fun fun fun

Resistance- fun and hard

MGS4-Nuff said

Meh, i would say go near any game on the PS3..... except for the following two...

Gundam....

and Transformers...

These games should be destroyed, along with every copy ever taken of the games...

i am a huge Transformers fan, but the game....... gave the franchise a hidiously bad name.

Other than those two, i havent played a game on the PS3 that i havent thought was fun :D sure, some are better than others, some get repetitive. But hell, most are fun for a good 5 hours or so, even if they are assassins creed, or haze. Which is money well spent to me! :D
