New PS3 owner-audio question

I am just curious as to if it is posible to run the video strictly through an HDMI cable and the audio through the red and whites on the AV cable. Is this possible and what settings do I need?

Yes it's possible, under settings in the XMB go to Display Settings and set it to HDMI, then go to Sound Settings and put it on AV.
