I just gotta say that these new pictures are just sick! It looks so much better than the first game. It has to be a contender for Game of the Year. I really hope that it does win.

this game doesn't look as good as i thought it would...its suppose to compete with Gears but it looks like a Ps2 game just on a wider scale. i'm a little let down.tymeservesfate

I think that your forgeting is that Insomniac make games fun to play and dont really base it on graphics. Graphics are nice but I would rather take gameplay over graphics.

pfft. who are you kidding, man you're in denial. you're fanboyism is blinding you, those graphics are excellent. i seriously don't think we're watching the same videos.

everything from those water effects, the those visceral cut scenes, to ambiance and atmosphere of the environments is outstanding. make sure you watch that developer walk through, that looked amazing.

first they get ambushed, then theres nothing but smoke and bullets flying at him, he flying gets out of the smoke into the foggy woods, these flying things start swarming him, the he's out in the open and this cloaked beats come rushing out at you like crazy.

also, you must have never played the fist?

many people don't realize, that despite what you thought about graphics in the pictures, the game had awesome guns that made for some, much needed, great strategy because otherwise you'll die a lot just trying to run around shooting. and the guns have add lots of different gameplay tactics, gears is mostly about a cover system.

Can you be a little more specifik on what makes the graphics look weak?

Without resorting to comparing it to other games. Use words to describe it instead of saying something simple as "Look at GeoW 2/KZ2/ Far Cry 2 and you will know".

Btw that Predator chimera :D makes this game full of Win! :P

i know thats a major step up from the last game. there were mangled bodies laying around with guts hanging out to, he shot one and the guts jiggled. haha, nasty but totally awesome! and thats some of the best water i have seen, cant wait for the next ratchet now! i just know they going to do something with those new graphics enhancements.

It's amazing what they have done with their Game engine. That's the same engine they used for R1 and Ratchet and Clank.

It seems to be improving all the time. Sony are lucky to have Insomniac by their side.

go watch x-plays review of resistance 1, its a very fair and correct review imo. and they also explain that the ai is very good, it is rutheless, smart, and fast.

it does wild things in the first game, like for instance, at one point in the game i killed a bunch of chimera that were waiting to ambush me, but there was one left, i ran after him shooting but he was in the distance and i could lock on, and he wouldnt stop moving and kept running away. eventually he ran through to another area, so im like yeah i got him now, NAH he baited me to a a bunch more chimera! i was surprised because this is not scripted, it just knows where to run for better protection, it ran to its comrades and waited to ambush me again. and when their together, they have no problems flanking you and using their weapons almost as effectively as yu can, like the bullseye which has a lock-on feature, they would use that, then you'd have to pull out the gun that shoots a shield.

this game look to be advancing in every way from the first one. i like how in one of these videos, he shoots a new handgun at a chimera that has a timed explosive, so he shot the chimera, it laid on the ground dead, and as another chimera ran past it, he blew up the timed explosion. thats awesome gameplay for a shooter. its almost a platforming type of mechanic.

the gameplay from gamevideos is even better.

the co-op looks incredibly fun, but the online is amazing, it almost seems like you're not playing an online game, its like it feels single player like. where theres almost this exploring element and mission objectives. thats killer man. like in other games its a specif thing you do the whole time within a map. but this game online seems like you in the middle of a war the whole time like in the single player and you have to navigate a massive map the whole time completing objectives. its very refreshing. i think im finally convinced to pick it up day one!

the beta is over and they have show some gameplay now. So even though I'm under NDA. I'll say this, i liked Co-Op hell-of-a-lot! :P

And like some journalist have reported, it really encourages teamplay. There is no Rambo in the word team.

More colour, better shadows, better texture, and more enemy's at a time.

Im getting this one for sure.

I didn't watch all of the vids, but I have to agree with you. Everything looked amazing, but those explosions stood out to me as rather weak as well.

nah i gotta admit they look like resistance 1 graphics, and they wernt that great. ill just see when ive got it at home i guess :S
