1. Cut the WiFi version price, make all future WiFi Vita's bundled with a 4GB Memory Card with Uncharted: Golden Abyss for $200

2. Pull all 3G models from shelves and cease all future manufacturing

3. Motivate Developers to make stellar exclusive titles that would "sell Vitas"

4. Incorperate a new & appealing cross functionality with Vita/PS4

5. Last but not least: Advertise the damn thing....

my ideas:

1. Let PS3/PS4 play all downloaded Vita games. (possibly excluding ones that require Vita-specific features)

2. Let Vita be used as a controller with PS3/PS4, unlocking new features in PS3/PS4 games if the devs implemented them. (such as rear view mirror in racing, inventory in RPG, etc etc) Thus replicating the WiiU.

3. If you combine ideas 1 and 2, then Sony can allow those types of new features in Vita games too, not just PS3/PS4 games.

4. Release remastered versions of select first party PSP games, scaled to fit the screen, 60 fps, all the same control options Vita allows when playing PSP games, double ministick support (if applicable), rebooted online servers if applicable, and new improvements to the game made. Do this for Resistance Retribution, Fat Princess, Gran Turismo, and the Syphon Filters.

5. Remake Jumping Flash 1 and 2 in Vita resolution and 60 fps. All-new visuals which would look like Pixar. Maybe add online play and/or new game modes or difficulties.

6. Make a Fat Princess for Vita.

7. Slash prices of memory sticks and possibly drop the price of Vita as well. (if possible)

Discontinue the 4GB card. Drop the price of the 8GB to the price of the 4GB, 16GB to 8GB and so on and release a 64GB card for the current price of a 32GB.

Introduce a PS+ bundle with a 90 or 180 day sub for $250.

^The Vita as a controller idea sounds good.

Needs more JRPGs and the 3 G's- Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo and God of War.

I agree that Sony should included a 4GB memory card with PSvita and a game. That is what inspired me to buy the first edition bundle. As for the 3G model I don't know if anyone has really used that feature or the "advantage" of 3G.

Sony does need to advertise the PSvita better.

But, in my opinion, the key is THE GAMES.

When I'll see a new Metal Gear, a new HD Dissidia, a new Valkyria Chronicles and a new Crisis Core style game, then, to me, the VITA will be born.

They should have made God of War: Ascension a PS Vita exclusive, it'd make more sense because of the Vita's WiFi functionality and Ascensions Multiplayer. Infact, the Vita's Wifi functionality could be it's BEST selling point. If we can get a true CoD (not Declassified) on Vita, Phantasy Star Online 2, a new Dissidia with online multiplayer/matchmaking, a new Crash Bandicoot, and an exclusive Final Fantasy. The PS Vita's future would be promising if those games would happen.

Every idea is essentially "dump more money into the Vita".

I think any idiot that doesn't work for Sony can see the solution pretty easily :)
release an FF or Monster hunter game and you win Japan.
Release GTA and cut the price of the mem cards and you win U.S. and from there it's snowball effect. is that so hard?

The only thing I see them needing to do after this is to drop the memory card prices and to get Atlus or Xseed onboard with major support (which is mostly there) like they had for the PSP. Persona 5 put out on Vita first would move a lot of systems.

1.  Deliver on the remote play promises.

2. Make Ni No Kuni on Vita.

3. Lower the price of memory cards and make a 64gb memory card.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  The remote play might as well not exist since it only works with a handful of games.

I'd also say get GTA or Elder Scrolls on it (or a Vita version of Demon's/Dark Souls) and then you'll get a lot of press attention on it (heck, Nintendo gets a ton of attention for their tried and true franchises like Mario and Pokemon, just imagine bringing a popular console series to a handheld with a knockout game, that'll get the attention of a lot of people, just like I knew about the recent, high rated RE on the 3DS, and I barely know any games on the 3DS).

after the success of P4G.... persona 5, or some version of another persona game on vita is almost a given. i mean the game sold quite well... far above expectations.

  1. PS4 functionality and I mean not like a half-hearted attempt.
  2. Expand the library with new Vita IPs
  3. Memory card prices are insulting
  4. Price decrease. It is well worth the current price, but it will appeal more to the public.

It really is a shame about the Vita sales. I've owned every handheld pretty much ever made and Vita is probably my favorite because of the intuitiveness, PS3 integration (cross save and buy etc.), OLED, etc.

They really do need a combination of price drop (both on the Vita itself and especially its memory cards), actual system-seller games, and more cross-buy and remote play type stuff. There's no reason the Vita couldn't function more or less as a WiiU pad, but with the established library of the PS3. It all makes me kind of sad - as far as the hardware goes the Vita is by far the best handheld I've ever used. It's just criminal that Sony has basically left it to rot.

This has been my exact same sentiment for the past year. I've pretty much had every handheld that has ever existed (except PSP) and the Vita hardware is awesome. I've already played my Vita twice as much as any other handheld despite the limited library.

Lack of games----when's the next game coming out? end of April? Their rival already has a slew of games coming out next week and the next few months.

My only gripe as well. Kind of feel lied to about the cross  play feature. I realize that in the very beginning it was going to be limited but they havent expanded it whatsoever since the release. I dont like sports games so I am basically left with a useless feature. I love the hardware on the Vita better than any other system I have used, just wish they would deliver what was promised.

I think dropping the 3G feature would be a good idea, I have a few friends with a Vita and none of us have the 3G. I personally dont have AT&T service and Im not willing to pay a monthly charge for 3G to access a remote play I dont use.

the only thing that will save the vita at this point is either a price cut on the system, or a price cut on the memory cards. not even an influx of decent games is going to bail it out at anymore. there is such a bad opinion of the thing that people are just ignoring anything that says vita now. thanks to sony, though, apparently nobody will be seeing a price cut anytime soon outside of japan. really puts a point on how much they care about the thing.

they are trying to concentrate on saving it in japan first....

that vita haven conference  announced like 5 or 6 games from companies like bandai, atlus and level 5 ...and they are cutting the price there....

japan is the most important market to them and they are showing this now.

What Sony really needs to do with the Vita is cut the price. I look at it this way- 3DS has no games. Vita has no games. 3DS costs $200. Vita costs $300. The Vita is the better, more powerful system and the better one to own. Right now though, there just isn't an appeal to either mobile handheld. But at the very least, the price needs to drop on the Vita to make it more competitive.
