Well, logic sort of dictates that the less materials used in a console, and the less they give it as far as housing & "thickness", the less chance there is that any noises will be dampened or otherwise supressed by the unit. I do not mean this to sound snide or snotty... I'm a sound engineer and acoustics consultant so I'm just relating things on a level which I deal every day, for sound systems and the like.

The b!tch of it is, you can't exactly dampen the sound by enclosing the unit further than it already is, because that has the distinct possibility of contributing to an over-heating situation. I SUPPOSE, that you could get a lotta long cables, and set the unit in a different room... That's how we isolate a drum kit from a singer, say, in a recording studio...
