The only update I know of that is suppossed to be coming is HOME. After playing the 360 since launch I have really come to appreciate achievements. It would be awesome to get the trophies soon.
well To me they should had released it with 1 gb of Ram and 700 mb or so in the gpu. since it came out a year later than xbox 3 shi-tty then there would not be a struggle for sony.
Also they should sell a upgrade for Ram and that some of it would go to GPU with a update.
i guess its too much to ask for sony lol, but not impossible.

Speaking of jerk, how about you try being satisfied with what they have now? They will have better graphics as time goes on, what they have right now gives you no reason to call anyone a jerk.
We can see what we get when it's released and as far the ingame message system I really see no need for it because if your in a game why would you want to be chatting or texting other people.

Yeah sereously You can still max newer games out with only 256mb of ram so there is no need for more. what they need is 512mb of XDR ram for the system that way there can be bigger maps and other things.
all i care about is in game XMB so i can listen to my own music while playing games. seriously a little bit of children of bodom while playing grand theft auto iv would be sweet :P

More than likely it's because they need Square Enix's approval since their games were not developed by Sony or developers owned by Sony.
That's probably why Castlevania Symphony of the Night is $9.99 instead of $5.99 like all the rest since it's the only third party game on the PS1 game line up right now.
yea cus they were biting the rest of the cost. It actually cost 800+ to produce back then. You make it seem like they can just go sticking whatever hardware they want in it. Adding 1GB of ram would NOT just cost 50 bucks. It would cost more than that most likely and that increase in manufacturing costs would reflect on retail pricing.
Also when ps3 came out, just the blu ray dvd player was 1000$ and the ps3 had one in it and was selling for 499. titogod31

I agree with that because the RAM used in the PS3 is a lot faster than the fastest RAM in a PC to date, and then the MB would have to be redesigned to except the different amounts of RAM. The cost would really drive the cost up with very little gains in what's in the system now. All it takes is developers learn to use the rest of the hardware the way it's meant to be used.
The price is similar to DDR2 SRAM, and theres a XDR2 RAM which is newer and much more expensive than the one on the ps3. And it not way better than DDR2 RAM.
