Hey guys iv'e been playing a bit of black ops lately and I always hear people talking about prestege and classes what are those exactly. I know that once you get to level fifty you go to prestige one or what ever then so on but what does prestige mean/do, thanks.

Perstige does many things:

  • More weapon class
  • Gold Camo/Color Clan tag
  • Acess to more playercard (the background thing)
  • Gives you something to do other than just stay at 50

There are 15 levels of prestige, each of which end at 50, as you said. Once you hit level 50, you can 'prestige,' which will reset all your classes and take away anything you've already unlocked so you can do it all again. Basically do this 15 times and each time you get a new emblem to show what level of prestige you're on.

It gives other players an idea of how long you've been playing - but keep in mind that prestige level has very little to do with actual skill... well, neither does Call of Duty, but my point is that there are prestige level 15 players who are absolute garbage and prestige 1 players who can dominate any lobby they walk into.

Also, since you're new, I'll give you a word of advice: find a nice corner, plant some claymores and let the morons come to you. They'll whine and complain about your camping, but then you have to ask yourself, would you rather be the camper, or the neanderthal getting camped on?

Scianix, I love when people like you are in the game and I see your claymore with Hacker and then pop a M203 in the corner you're in and hear your kind whine about how unfair the grenade launcher is.

I wonder why you think COD has so little skill considering what you do.

When did I say I practiced what I was preaching? I only play hardcore search and destroy and I play with a clan that rushes, so there's no time for me to camp. What good am I to my team if I'm holed up in a corner?

And Call of Duty takes a lot less skill than anyone's kill/death ratio indicates. A good 75% of everyone's ratio is from pushing the right button on the d-pad.

lol, Like I said to above guy, I don't camp myself - it's boring and rushing gets the adrenaline going. I don't whine about tubes either, because I do what it takes to win, so I can understand why people would tube. I just don't find winning by camping or tubing to be particularly satisfying... it's like bringing a gun to a knife fight.

And screw Hacker. Black Ops is garbage.

I would agree with "screw hacker" if claymore's either weren't set-it-and-forget-it or could be tripped by teammates in hardcore to people can't just litter the whole map with them. I also only pull out the tube when people are camping in tough to get an angle on corners. Just makes my life easier than exposing myself and rewarding them for sitting in a corner.
