Hello and thanks for reading this post. I am new to the PS3 and consoles in general and got a few questions. Best way to save and transfer saved game files is to just put them on a USB stick and if they are unable to be copied then it sucks for me?
Yea, use a USB to transfer/back up your save files. As for those copyright protected saves, I assume the only way you could transfer them is to back-up the entire PS3 hard drive. But don't take my word for it since I've never actually backed up my hard drive before to see whether those copyright protections could be bypassed.
Also, lets say I have my PS3 disconnected to the internet, put in a brand new game, lets say Bioshock and then I beat the whole game. Then I connect my PS3 to the internet. Will my trophies and such show up on my PSN network or will they not show up because when I played the game I was disconnected from PSN. Basically, if my PS3 gets internet here and there during continous play sessions will all my trophies aquired show up through my PSN account, even ones aquired offline? Thanks alot.
Don't worry, once you'll create a PSN account, you won't need to have a perpetual Internet connection to collect trophies. You can collect your trophies offline, and when you'll sign on to your PSN account and select "profile" (or simply view your trophies), all of your offline-gathered trophies will automatically synchronize with Sony's servers. Like you've probably already guessed, this sync is necessary not only to keep your current PSN trophy acquisition and level up-to-date, but also to protect your trophy collection in case your PS3 breaks down or you experience some kind of hard drive failure.
