New to ps3 (HELP)

I'm thinking of getting a ps3 because my 360 keeps giving me problems, i just want some help on how the ps3 is online. am i able to listen to music while playing a game, is the online community headset friendly?

If you get a PS3, here's the best way I've found to find friendly people on PSN with headsets other than on GS. Play Burnout Paradise online a lot and you will find people who are willing to play other games with you. I've found meeting people on shootersdifficult.
