new to ps3, trophies question

so is there alot of games out there now with trophies, and how do they work?anything like achievments,also what good games have them?

one more thing, if trophies is new to a game , do u have to start a new game for them to become active,thanks.

Agreed with the previous comment.... It depends on your taste... Anyway, here is my top 5 games w/ achievements

1. Uncharted
2. Street Fighter IV
3. Killzone 2
4. Resident Evil 5
5. Dead Space

Achievements and trophies are exactly the same. The only difference is that achievements are counted in points, and make it sound cooler when you stroke your E-peen.

Trophies are just like acheivements, and in most multiplat games, what you do to get them is identical. The only difference is acheivements are a POINT system and the higher your points, the more achievements you must have. The trophies are given a LEVEL system, which I personally think is a better idea. Someone who takes the time to get gold or platinum trophies, may have fewer TOTAL trophies than others, but can still have a higher LEVEL because gold and platinum trophies are worth more than bronze.

It was mentioned that all games officially being produced this year must have trophies.
