the whole point of the thread was askng when its coming out beacuse its not available yet. and to be honest I don't care about having the menu up during a game, just the messaging friends part

Yea but the messaging friends part is why people want it, i mean i guess some want the music in-game but its a big deal to people to message friends and see who is online

That is the only functions available. People want access to Friends Lists and Music while playing their games too. Sony is probably working on this and some games already have in game music like High Velocity Bowling and Super Stardust HD.

Friends list is useful for communicating with friends to join a game together and stuff w/out quiting your current game.
In game music would work for stuff like Motorstorm and some casual games. But stuff like Uncharted, which has a great musical score should be left w/ the normal music.

Uhh they've already debunked these in-game XMB rumours (said the screenshots were fake) and said that is not being worked on and not to expect it any time soon :/

The only reason people want the next update quick is because they hope it'll give us in-game XMB, and ofcourse once it comes out and we dont get the awaited feature every1 will acted gutted as if it was promised goods and Sony let us down and blah blah blah...gekidami
