let me start by saying NV is my single most anticipated of 2010 and i really tried to look past the visual bugs but how the F*** can i play this game if it freezes every hour? sometime it freezes 30 mins after i turn it on.

out of my 30+ PS3 game collection ONLY fallout 3 and new vegas freeze. at least fallout 3 would only freeze once every couple hours but NV is just ridiculous. does bethseda plan to fix this issue? are you guys experiencing the same problem? this is so depressing i cant even play the damn game, my PS3 will YLOD from all these manual shut downs before i actually beat the game lol this is so stupid.

Rant end

I've played the game for over 7 hours and it hasn't frozen on me once. Just some framerate issues. It's totally playable.

Turning off auto-save helps a lot from what I hear.

I have been playing perfectly fine so far. No problems whatsoever.

Edit: Sorry, I though this was the 360 forum. I haven't played this game on my PS3 yet.

ive only played for a few hours but i havnt frozen once. everyone said the same thing about FO3, but i played through that twice (well over 100 hours) and probably froze less than 10 times. i guess it's different for everyone. (i have an original 60GB ps3)

Do you have an older model PS3? Curious if the problem is related to the older models. I played Red dead Redemption over the weekend, and blew a gasket when the game froze 3 times. During the Mexican Train robbery where I knife the first guard. A google search revealed other people had freezes in the same here. And it was occuring on the old models.

I haven't ran into any freezes at all, and my hour count in the game is approaching 10 hours. I've had a few framerate hiccups and I almost fell through the ground but that's about it.

well for the first time since i bought it i have been able to play up to about 2 hours of gameplay before i turned it off( first time with no freezing). i turned of the auto save feature and left only "save on rest" like a previous poster recommended, i dont know if it helped or its just a coincidence.

Try unhooking your ps3 from the net, helped with Fallout 3 a little, can't vouch for Vegas until tommorow. As the other guys have mentioned Bethesda have issued a statement about a patch but it's not like their techs been anything but utter bollocks before now accross the board.

The reviews warned everyone of the bugs, but some purchased it anyway and now complain.

look i was aware AND cool with the fact of some visual bugs and skipping but my problem is far more severe and i just now found out that one of my good friends has had his freeze today as well for the first time after a 90minute session. this is more then a "bug" this is game breaking for me, i can only hope that this patch coming out fixes this.

i love how devs can use having a hard drive on consoles for rushing games that are glitchy out just because they pre sold 1million copies and can release a POS that people still buy. This is why i have a Wii. every time i go to play anthing PS3, there is updates. Wii games are done right the first time(Nintendo 1st party ones) and if there are glicthes, they are usually the crappy 3rd parties who cry the Wii doesnt have a hard drive so they can patch their games.

really? didnt the new metroid game have some kind of bug that forced you to use an old save file if the bug showed up, something to do with a door not working?

No complete freezes for me, but the framerate drops to 0 every few seconds when I'm walking through the wasteland... meaning, it constantly "freezes" for like a half second or full second.

As for "reading reviews that talked about it and still complaining" well, despite the fact that not everyone reads all the reviews before buying a game (lots of people do this thing called "pre-order even. Maybe you heard of it?) the devs put a gag order on reviews for New Vegas, and didn't let any reviews go up until the game's release. It's funny, I posted (albiet on the 360 board) that this act worried me, and made me think the game was possibly really glitchy and they didn't want people to know... and all the fanboys jumped down my throat for suggesting the game might not be a 10.0. Fortunately, because of the review ban I only rented the game. Sometimes it sucks always being right...

after 2 playthoughs and a 100%, i havent seen any bugs. But im not sayin there isnt one. but playing AC2, i saw tons and tons of bugs, flying light post, invisible switches, terrible pop in from NPCs.

Patches are coming... I wouldn't let the problems stop you from buying it if you enjoyed F3, but perhaps wait to buy until the majority of patching has been issued so that you can have as worry-free a game as possible.

I agree with what monkey said, do not let silly things like lag stop your from purchasing the game. Wait for the patches if you are concerned, however I fear they might bring more trouble with them(fear of disappointment alert). Also, if you did enjoy Fallout 3 you will love this game much more in terms of gameplay.

The only game that made my PS3 freezes is MW2.. That's why i hardly played this game and I regret owning this, even though I may still getting BO.

I've played it for 10 hours and it hasn't frozen once, and I've encountered no major glitches.
