From October 10th a new Vita will be available. It will be cheaper, lighter, with +1 hr battery charge and lot of colours to chose from. But, as it seems, it won't have an OLED display, just an LCD.

New games coming in 2014 include:

- Soul Sacrifice Delta by Sony Team Japan,

- A Danganronpa inspired shooter by Chunsoft,

- Phantasy Star Nova, a Phantasy Star Online 2 inspired off-line RPG created by the team Tri-Ace, obviously to be published by Sega.

I'm not getting one just because of the screen.  It is very noticeable to me.  The cross play games I have look alot better on my Vita then they do on my 42 inch LCD tv

Sticking with my original Vita. I don't see a reason to downgrade.

to me it looks like the new one is a lower quality for people that want to get a Vita at a lower price and the original is a higher quality Vita with a higher price

Except there's almost no difference in price if Japan is any indication. It looks like the current model will probably just be phased out. It doesn't make much sense that they'd sell and produce two different units and only sell them for a difference of a thousand yen.
