Does anyone else think it would be freakin awesome for RARE or some other very good game designer (RARE just came to mind because they did the original goldeneye) to make a next gen remake of the original 007 goldeneye for n64?

It would have same levels, weapons, and enemies and storyline, except updated things like online multiplayer, better graphics, and ragdoll (and maybe ironsights)

I know they already made Goldeneye: Source, but still, bring it to consoles!!

Anyone think that would be awesome?

Did you just say Rare is a very good game designer? Like Adam Sessler said, "Funny, how a company called rare havent made a good game in over 5 years". But that quotes like 5 years old. I think it would be good

Don't let memory take you. The gameplay is dated, is it not?

Sad, but true:cry: As much as I love that game, it wouldn't have the same effect on me now like it did back then:?

Very Dated :( I play it still and its not the same now that im used to two analog sticks.

But However there is a new Bond game (Quantum of Solace I believe) that is using the COD 4 engine :D There is some potential there...

I think it would be a bad idea. They probably wouldn't be able to get the original team, and it would be done by some crap devs or something who try and re-vamp it like Turok...

Yeah Turok w3as a little dissapointing, but it would stillhave two analog sticks! It would have completely different controls

...Yep. Memory took you. Only Ocarina of Time could pull off a "Next-gen" feel...you know...because of the shooters and all.

You are absolutely correct. As much as I would like for devs to remake some games, you really have to think back and ask yourself: Is the gameplay dated? Hell, I still think Half Life 2's gameplay is dated and it's suppose to be next-gen...

Haha I used to have that same ringtone until someone stole phone:( As for Goldeneyes music, for some reason I always loved the elevator music. I can't remember what level it was in, but it was great:D

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the majority of the RARE team that made Goldeneye end up at Free Radical which created HAZE? If so, given the reviews of HAZE, I don't think it would be wise to expect a new 007 made by them to live up to the hype. Also, every 007 since Goldeneye hasn't quite hit that bar either IMO.

That is correct. Well after Goldeneye, all 007 games were made by EA.

It is, but James Bond is such a great IP for a game like this and through some sort of ineptitude that shouldn't even mathematically be able to be exist, no one has seemed to get it right in a gaming context except for Goldeneye. I'd rather have a completely new Bond FPS... not this Quantum of Solace BS we're getting, I'm talking about a FPS. Killing Soviets, bedding models, using gadgets, maybe even heading into space.

They should have a Bond game that cherry picks the best parts of the earlier movies, like killing baddies while skiing, and having a speedboat chase through the Louisiana Bayous, or that weird chase through the streets of that Indian town or whatever.
