hi, i rarely come here so if this has been posted please bear with me. as titled, with the release of NGP slated to be year-end 2011, which is close, is it realistic to expect a (considerable) price drop of PSP anytime soon? i've looked around online and no news offers any speculations on this regard. just wanna hear what you think.

by the way, NGP looks great. :D

I'd say a price drop is imminent, though it may not drop until the actual release of the PSP2. In my area, there have been a few places that had it on sale for $100 (the bundled versions)

I'm actually thinking of getting a 3000 myself if I can get a good enough price ($70 or lower) as a backup system for all my UMDs. I have A LOT of unplayed PSP games that I'm planning to finish, and I'd hate for my current PSP to die.

There might be a price drop but not until the NGP is released.

Would make sense, I would expect to see it a few months before the release of the NGP. I hope so anyway, would love to buy another one.

I'm seeing a Price Drop around April to June. I think March is usually the last month of the fiscal year for companies or something. So, after that, they'll annouce price drops.

I hope so. My PSP 2000's screen has weird dark splotches all over it. I've been getting by with the TV out, but I don't really like using that too much, because it doesn't use the full screen. Another reason I want to grab a new one is because NGP doesn't have a UMD slot. I'm not paying more money to download games I already bought for $30-$40 each.

Probably by -15%? If the NGP is significantly priced higher than the PSP1, the probability of a significant price drop, to me, isn't that likely.

Nope not until the NGP is on store shelves. Then the final price drop and clear out will begin.
