Personaly with what i have read i prefer the looks and game play of NHL 08 (which is EA's Game)

NHL 07 was the better game last year but NHL 2k6 was the better IMO. It could be a toss up but I would put my money on NHL 08 given how incredibly good NHL 07 was.
I played the 2K series until I couldn't find it in stores one year and I got NHL 06 instead, and it was the best decision I ever made. NHL 08 will rock the world.
2K is disgusting in the fact that they blatantly copied EA's joystick movement for the stick idea and renamed it the hit stick. NHL 08 is way ahead of 2k8.
From the looks of it, NHL 08 is shaping up to be the better game. The graphics of 08 beat those of 2K8 hands down and just from looking at the preview videos, it seems like there aren't nearly as many animations in 2K8 (for instance, the goalies go into the butterfly, get beat, and dive to the other side of the net repeatedly). NHL 08 will be my next purchase come September 11th.
2k games graphics dont look like the players and ea games do look like it ..so u should go with nhl 08 but maybe this year 2k8 is betteerWizzy_

anyhow, NHL 08 is going to be the game to get this year for hockey fans. As long as the AI holds up, this could be the best hockey game ever made (IMO of course).
although nhl 08 might be the better game this year, who thinks that the deking systemin nhl 2k8 looks more better. nhl 08's deking looks to 1 dimensional and theres really no variety. that one on one thing has no variety at all,in all the movies i just see the player put the puck in between the defenders legs, and thats it!. by looking at the trailers, 2k8's deking system looks pretty sick if u ask me. the shooting also caught my attention, it just looks like 2k8 has a more realistic wrist and slap shot. and whats up with everytime they score in nhl 07/08 they hit the post like 50% of the time??....btw, 2k8's graphics are fine with me....gameplay before graphics imo
It sure is 2K8 for me! I never was a fan of the NHL '0_ franchise's choppy skating animations. In fact, I find them unbearable. 2K has always been my favourite and this year's Superstar Moves seem to be a blast to pull out.
