It's on sale for 29.99 and a lot of people lately has been still yapping about it saying its really a great game. What do you guys think ? Is Ni No Kuni worth the 29.99 and will a RPG gamer such as myself will enjoy this JRPG ?

don't miss this masterpice, especially if ur jrpg fan
IMO, without question this is the best JRPG for the PS3. I think it's one of the very best games this gen.
As a huge JRPG fan I wanted to like this game so much. I actually just finished it and if I knew what I know now I never would've played it. You have a Xenogears avatar? Xenogears crushes this game. There's certainly redeemable aspects but overall the best thing that I can say about it is that it's "okay". I know that I'll catch flak for this but the game is very childish and corny. I know I hate it when people bash games like Little Big Planet or Ratchet And Clank or even just Nintendo games in general for what they perceive to be too childish but this game truly is. The dialogue can be like listening to people from Pleasantville and Oliver can be dumb as bricks at times. There's a billion side quests and my OCD made me do them all but they aren't enjoyable (unless you count the casino stuff). You may love the game, other people seem to. I will say that it has the best looking world map that I've ever seen.

Amazon has it for 20 http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B007A7UJ4S/ref=sr_1_1_ha_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1375625941&sr=8-1&keywords=ni+no+kuni&condition=new
It's polished and has great presentation as well as a good proper overworld, but I found the battle system extremely sloppy. It never helps when you have AI partners and the mechanics themselves just seem clunky...

Wow, I've heard great things about it, but that's very reassuring to hear. I haven't played a great JRPG in years. I'll have to give this a second thought.IMO, without question this is the best JRPG for the PS3. I think it's one of the very best games this gen.

I've never played a JRPG, and I enjoy a good RPG. It seems adolescent. I've seen and read some stufff on it, but am I completely off base? I'll try it eventually.

The ones that play it and say it's too childish tend to be the teenagers, because they're worried about looking immature. IMO, it's fun for all ages. I'm 40, and I loved it. I compare it to the movie Shrek. I could watch it with a 10 year old and we'd both enjoy it. That's kinda how Ni no Kuni is. It's just a really unique experience that has a lot of magic and charm to it.
[QUOTE="jsmoke03"]Keeps sounding better and better. Any particular old school RPG it remind you of? nothing really in particular. i say it gives me the nostalgia smiles because this game is just pure. its one of those games where you want to live in this world and really live out its adventure. it reminded me of when i used to react to cartoons when i was 4. when i cared about heroes and doing the right thing. i have had a life that isnt so innocent and pure, so when i experience things that would remind me of innocence without being childish (like dora the explorer or barney or sesame street) it gives me the nostalgia smiles.without a doubt. it gave me the nostalgia smiles.

The game is without a question worth the price, however is it for everyone? That's a different question, personally as much as I enjoy Anime, Manga and in general Japanese culture I couldn't find myself playing the game for too long. I simply find it to be to childlike. This isn't an offence to the game, it simply isn't catering to me personally, anymore.
When I was younger, definitely, I grew up with Ni No Kuni pureness but that time has passed.
Still, It's a fantastic game for those who can look past the younger feel of the game.
I'm not a fan of JRPGs but I really like this game. Though, I only played a little of it because I want to get through some shorter games that have been sitting around, as this is a game that kind of demands all your time, which isn't a bad thing, as the game is rather amusing (funny characters and the sort of Pokemon feel really add to it being addictive, which it does become as you go and level up fighting various creatures).
This is my EXACT fear of trying this game. I love a good RPG. I'll play Kingdoms of Amalur before I try this.....I will try it someday. It's got my curiosity.I couldn't find myself playing the game for too long. I simply find it to be to childlike.
