Ok, I know I'm a bit behind, but I just received my copy of NGS yesterday, I can't quit playing Madden. I haven't played a NG game since the NES, so it's totally new to me. I have played the demo (very little).

I have a couple of questions before I start; I heard something about extras by completing the demo? What do you have to do, and is it essential, as I'm ready to start playing now?

And do you reccomend picking up a strategy guide, as I would like to find all the scarabs? Can I finish the game and then go back and find the scarabs on hard?

Thanks for the time, and future advice

If you havent played it yet id say return it and get heavenly sword being as NG 2 is 360 exclusive and you wouldnt want to enjoy the first(most likely) and be dissapointed that you cant play the second. \

Anyway you wont need strategy guides. The game may be hard but youll find your way and after playing for a while youll get better. A guide would turn this 15-20 hour game to a 6-8 hour game so i wouldnt recommend getting one.

1) the extras in the game are bascially listed in the reviews on GS, I dont know all of them, but i do know that one of the extras is you can play as Rachel in some of the chapters, which really gives the game more variety since she plays differently from Ryu. I also believe that some of the levels have been altered a little from the Xbox version so the game is more enjoyable, but not much. You also get new sets of weapons the Xbox version didnt get.

2) You dont really need a strategy guide imo, the game is pretty much straight forward and if you get stuck in anyway its not difficult to find ur way again. Im sure there are online guides if you need it tho, just not as good as a strategy guide but its free and im sure they will inform you about where the scarabs are. Im not sure what happens when you finish the game, but as far as i know the game starts off on a hard difficulty, if you want the game to be a little easier so you can get use to it after beening really frustrate. When you die (oh and you WILL die) enough, the game will ask you if you want to quit the "ways of the ninja" or whatever and everytime you pick yes it will become easier.

Hope this helps. Enjoy ur new game!

Are you able to go back and search for the scarabs after finishing on normal?

Ninja Gaiden is overrated. If you played God of War before you'll see why it's not as good. Sure it has tons of content and replay value but it's more annoying than fun in most cases and you'll be angry when you beat the game opposed as happy.... atleast I know that's how I felt.

Thanks to everyone who addressed my questions!!!

As for opinions of, if you think the game is good, that wasn't my question...

I have the game, I'm not taking it back, and yes I will still be picking up Heavenly Sword.

If you want help in getting the scarabs just consult gamefaqs, don't waste another 15 bucks getting a book that you're only going to read once.

I hate going off topic, but I think it's cool that you commented thanking people from responding. I always get the feeling in forums that thread creators are just reading and leaving us here to argue about fanboyism.

You're welcome. It's just that I don't post much and I hate it when I do post and ask a question like I didthis timeand people don't even address it. Like Goldenglove did above, "Ninja Gaiden is overrated..." rah rah rah.

Thanks again

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a definite must have game for PS3 owners who do not have an Xbox or Xbox 360. It is a true classic and one of the best action games to come out in a long time. I am proud to have it in my collection.

If you beat the demo, you get extra essence (money) when you start the game. The higher the difficulty you beat it on, the more you get. It's not necessary to beat the demo like 5 times. Just start playing the game and enjoy it.

Don't bother with the strategy guide. It is overpriced. You can use a guide on Gamespot or IGN to help you find all the scrabs.

You picked up a great game. Enjoy it.
