I was just watching the latest video of NG:S.  I  have to say, when you consider that this game is jumping from last gen. console to a completely next generation system which has specs that destroy the xbox, it gets me thinking that this game should be looking a helluva lot better.  It's a beautiful game, I see that there is more detail in the environments such as swaying bushes and falling leaves.  I also see that the animation is lightning smooth.  But it was a beautiful game on the xbox too.  Take a beautiful game on a last gen, move it to ps3 and we should be getting blown away! This thing should have the horsepower for the developers to lavish it graphically (which was their purpose) to the hilt!  There should be more bumpmapping and especially more particle effects happening.  I understand Team Ninja likes to make clean looking games, but c'mon.  For a system that is supposed to be at least 10 x more powerful, this game doesn't even look twice as good.

I just watched it again just to be sure. The outdoor area looks good. The indoor areas are bland! Textures are not up to par, there are minimal particle effects, and where is the lighting? late spring release eh?

I would have said the same, until I watched a graphical comparison by gamevideos.com yesterday. It improved a lot over the XBox version

That's to be expected, though. IMO, it looks to be about the same level of graphical quality as DOA4. And it lacks the extra polish of true next-gen games.

Don't try to judge the graphics to early. The games is still quite a ways off.

Played the original and just loved it. After watching Gamespot's interview, I firgured it's a remake of the original. This really makes me mad, I'll still get it because of the extra content.
But why don't think of a new game storyline? Or am I mistaken, is it different?

http://gamevideos.com/video/id/10182 Watch the WMV version. Don't download the MOV version; they loaded an uncompressed one up there and it'll kill your PC. And don't bother with the Flash version; you need to see it in HD.

The difference is quite impressive if you watch the HD comparison video. However I agree it's nothing mindblowing. There is a limit to how good a 4 wall room can look after all...

Hate to break the news but the PS3 IS NOT that much more powerful than the 360. Infact the 360's GPU is leaps and bounds ahead of the Nvidia modified 7800gtx version the PS3 has. Other than that the rest of your post was fine but you really should try NOT to sound like a fanboy.

Eh, I'm more happy about getting the game on a console that I own, than whether or not the game rivals Motorstorm and Oblivion.

Besides, it seems to run at 60FPS in 1080p, and looks fine enough on my end.

I'd rather have it 60FPS and extremely fluid, but without the greatest graphics, than have it look amazing with the most spastic framerate ever.

Why don't you try reading the mans post before fanboying about 360. He said that the PS3 is suppose to be 10 times more powerful than the XBOX (not 360), consideringthis game is a remake of an XBOX game, it should look 10 times better 360 fanboys are paranoid, no one even mentioned 360 and they come in acting all tough. Read before you post and maybe YOU won't sound like a fanboy.

Those amateurs over at IGN disagree with you though.

From a technical aspect, Ninja Gaiden Sigma looks about as sharp as we figure games can get. Every texture in the game has been reworked for the PlayStation 3, and a number of other effects have been added to spice things up, like self-shadowing and so forth. Some creatures now shine with ooze, while others emit clouds of something as they scurry about the battlefield. Tecmo said that it has just recently managed to implement full 1080p support into the game, and at a full 60fps to boot. Yes, this is one slick-looking title.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/775/775292p1.html You're entitled to your opinion as much as they are, of course! But they have the game in front of them, not watching a Hi Def trailer at 600 pixels or whatever. That is unless you downloaded a 1920x1080 clip?
