No 2008 rpgs announced? Hope Squareenix is really workin hard...

Man I really miss a good ole rpg, great story and music and binding characters. I really hope ffXIII does for the ps3 what ffX did for the ps2 yakno? I miss rpgs, other genres are doing great and for once the ps3 shooters are competing so thats good. Thoughts?

Well i think its pretty bad that we rely on 1 corporation for our RPG fix. Anyhow i also want a great RPG. Hopefully squareenix won't let me down like they did with XII(storywise).FF6fan

I agree 12 was cool. And was needed to show a new way to do things. And it got great scores because of that. But in retrospect. 7,8,9 and 10 were still better games. They just had more meaningfull stories and areas. Plus every areas was cool in the past ones. In 12 you had alot of desert!!

Some say that by making 12 political, with no sappy love story, it worked better. I dont buy that thow. Ill take the emotion and stuff. Its a RPG!! not a shooter, you need emotions.

What about Disgaea 3? One of the deepest tactical RPGs this side of...Disgaea 2!

I love JRPGs with turn based combat, I get annoyed when people complain about it. Square Enix ruined FF 12 with its awful combat system. I hope 13 is turn based, it just dosen't fill like FF if it isn't. But if you listen to reviewers they go on like its old school and needs to move on with the times. But isn't turn base combat a style of play like FPS, Platform games, Racers they've been around just as long, If Japanese developers keep listening to Western developers turn base combat wil soon be a dead. every rpg will be a hack and slash with some crap magic system tacked on.

Name one big rpg getting release with turn based combat. Thank god for Lost Odyssey

We have Valkyria Chronicles amd Disgaea 3 coming this year so this thread is faulty and makes no sense at all. It is not as if the other platforms have a slew of rpg's either. Yeah sure you can play Blue Dragon or Lost odyssey, bust those games are just copy cats of DQ and FF, only nowhere near as good. As of right now All there is in the way of JRPG's is Eternal Sonata and Tales of Vesparia for 360 and Tales of Symphonia 2 for the wii. It isn't like the other 2 systems have 15 epic rpg's on them and we have nothing. I have never played disgaea before but from what I understand it has a lot of play time and it takes forever to master. Valkyria chronicles has over 50 characters that are customizable and upgradeable, and the environment plays an impact on how you play.

FF 13 is not turn based they already said it was real time, so anyone hoping for that can just stop. If your going to make a thread about something make sure you have all the facts straight. People always hope for turn base for FF 13 but isn't happening, but I don't get brick wall in their minds.

nobody even knows if there will be a kingdom hearts 3 and if there is, you can bet you will be waiting a long while for it. It took 3 and half years just for 2 to come out. You at least have to wait until 2010 for the game and there is no guarantee it will be on PS3. Unless Japan somehow buys 12 million ps3's in the next 2 years, I highly doubt it will go to ps3. It might go to 360 because of the bad market in Japan so Square just might say screw the homeland America and Europe will buy this up and then they are going to look at the instill base of what is there more of. That is why this year is very important for Sony. If they don't have a superb holiday season, or if they don't sell more than the 360 does then some of the bigger titles might not go to it. I highly doubt that Square will multiplatform KH because if it takes 3 and a half years to make it on one system just think how long it would be for 2.

You are so right. I'm waiting for FF and white night story. I'm also waiting for other ps2 sequals. RPG, action, and a bunch of others.

It's possible that KH3 will have a spin off that's on Wii. And the main KH3 will be on PS3. It's also possible that KH3 will be going multiplat for PS3, xbox360 and wii. But there's no chance for it to be on xbox360 exclusively.

whats this Tears to Tiara game? Also I see a few others. Really theirs a list of about over 20. but alot are unnamed as of now. But their is others, like Valkyria Chronicles also. Or here for real gameplay

Ewwww, that game looks absolutely terrible, both graphics and gameplay.

I really hope they confirm Kingdom Hearts 3 soon, as well as put down some release dates for the FFXIII Games. I really need an RPG fix.

I have to agree, Lost Odyssey is one of the better JRPG's that has been out in years. And I would say that its on par with some of the Final Fantasy's that has been released.

Both Kingdom Hearts managed to sell a million a piece in Japan alone so it would be foolish to think Square-Enix would make KHIII exclusive to the 360 when it's performing poorly in their homeland. It will either be exclusive to the PS3, exclusive to the Wii or multiplatform for the PS3 and 360.

Hopefully Eternal Sonata makes it out before the end of the year. Pretty sure none of the others aren't.Devourment423
