If FFXIII Versus becomes a multiplatform before this E3 ends, I think Sony Fanboys will hurl. To be honest, I was surprised to found out about this news but there's nothing we can do at this point but soak it all in. I have both 360 and PS3 but I prefer to have titles stay loyal to their brand. I dont know about you, but that's me. But of course, Square Enix chose money over loyalty. Personally, I believe in loyalty and honor. I guess SE lost that today.
Ofcourse it's no problem...the only reason it seems like its a huge deal is because people come here day and night to argue about which consol has what (system wars) the only people who are going to make a huge deal about this are the people who have already decided that they want to compete with a brand they don't have/like the least....coming to reality...all that this means si that the game is available on two systems and in the real world...no one really cares...in fact....most people would be pleased to have an option....
Just remember that it's only this gamespot/systemwars competition that makes this look horrid.
Why do people care so much? It's not like theyre losing it for the PS3, jsut more people are going to be able to enjoy the game and the game will be more available, for instance, if you have both a 360 and PS3, then you have a greater chance of picking one up without reserving one.Spirit_Warriors
You are partially right but what would be the point of having more than one console on the market? We might as well have one game console with the exception of Nintendo's console and the PC.
Why do people make such a big deal out of this? so the ps3 only has MGS4 as an exclusive and the only JRPG on the ps3 isnt exclusive, everybody makes money out of it, I just think its the sony fanboys that have the biggest problem with it.ConkerAndBerri2
no its the sony/final fantasy fanboys that have a problem with it. me, i could care less im still going to get it.

Totally agree. There's something about loyalty in video game companies that make the games so special. I jst hate M$ ( i don't respect them at all) because all they're doing is throwing money at companies to nab exclusives - you don't buy respect, you EARN it - at least that's how i remember the quote. I don't see how M$'s respective "fan" base can respect its respective idol - I know PS3 fans can respect Sony because of their past success and killer exclusives (in short, they have a good track record), but what has M$ done? The original xbox had no good exclusives besides Splinter cell (for a while), Halo, and Ninja Gaiden. M$ had to buy original IPs just to survive, which I think was a greedy and lazy action on behalf of M$. M$ stole Rare from Nintendo, nabbed exclusivity, and has a console that is unreliable. If you think about it, M$ is a smooth criminal - in a bad way of course. I keep rambling on because I don't want this media (of videogames) to be built upon a base of money - no success should be determined by who has the most money, but by who has the most skill and hardwork.
To be honest, who couldn't see this happening?
Square has been announcing rpg after rpg for the 360 but only said about Final Fantasy on the PS3. What we can probably expect is for Square to announce that the 360 only rpgs it has in the works to come to the PS3 in the near future. If they don't believe it makes fiscal sense to keep Final Fantasy to one console then it also wouldn't make sense to keep it's other rpgs on one machine.
What we should keep in mind though is that GTA4 went multi-platform, yet when it came out more people bought a PS3 than a 360 because GTA is still seen as a Playstation game, it is a name that has been synonymous with Playstation since Grand Theft Auto 1.
Same with Final Fantasy, it's been on Sony consoles since FFVII and is still seen as a Playstation game. When it comes out in Japan they'll buy PS3s because they still don't trust Microsofts big American 'wonder'.
When it comes to companies all they care about is the money, that's why Square has gone multi-plat, especially seeing as FFXIII could potentially cost them more than Spirits Within did considering how good it looks.
But when it comes to Loyalty our compatriots in the east know their stuff, no amount of 360 exclusive rpgs will change that.
