You use like backup cds i think or like usb you can get them in 32 gbs. Store all your info on that then when you upgrade you can download it to your new hdd.So i have finallly filled up my 80 gb ps3......i need more space, and i want to keep my current data....

By the way how much gb was your original model? He said it already... :| He has an 80 gig...Well you could either get a new internal or external HDD.
Since you seem to want an external one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136170&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Hard+Drives+-+External-_-Western+Digital-_-22136170
Its already FAT32 Format so you should be able to just plug it in and play
Option 1: Get a bigger hard drive:
- Hook up a FAT32 external HDD, then use the PS3's backup utility to back up EVERYTHING.
- OR: Get a flash card. This way you can back up saved files, music, photos and videos only.
- After this, install the new HDD.
Option 2: Just delete some stuff :P
