i know alot of people that arent going to get a ps3 untill about that time so thats good news for them. as for me i think it is worth the price now so i bought it.

If you truly want to play ps3 games, then you would buy it right now.

If you worry about spending 500-600 dollars, then maybe you should ask yourself first, "Do I really want a ps3?"

First off a comment towards Pimperjones next to those things you listed the Apocalypse or a outbreak of Neohandia could appear!-A Illness were your hands fall off.

But in my opinion the Ps3 is a steal, for one the Blu-Ray drive [Computer RW drive] in my local Best Buy sells for 800$ and the BC for almost all Ps games, those makes up my mind alone! Well more on topic, I don't care about price-cuts Sony's already losing 120$ for every 60gig sold [Correct me if im wrong im almost to the dollar there I believe]. Mainly because of the alliance of Sony and Samsung might have been standard Blu-Ray drive prices if not and imagine a $1200 Ps3 people! [Samsung being the producer of Blu-ray drives]

If someone want to buy a PS3 do it quickly because Sony is not going to put the processor of the PS2 on PS3, this means that only a 45% of the PS2 games can be played on the PS3, like Europe in the US and Japan will happened too in a near future.

I waited for the PS2 to go done, I can wait for the PS3 as well besides I'm still waiting for some good games to come out for the PS3 (maybe I will get it sooner if I just get a job)

Why is this even such a big deal?  If you are interested in the system, why would you wait for 2 years to buy one just because the price is gonna go down?  I mean let's be realistic here, there is no way that the price is going to dramatically drop, it's not like today it's 600 bucks, and all of a sudden it drops down to 350 or something, your lucky if a price drop sees the price go down 50 or 100 dollars tops, and in todays gaming age, that is beyond insignificant.   That's a little more than 1 game, or a few months of gamefly.

   The other thing, is that how many times have we heard something concrete sounding from people as high up as the presidents of Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, or what have you, and they come out and tell us that this will or won't happen, and within days sometimes, the complete opposite becomes the reality, so I'm sorry, but I don't think we can put any real stock in something a low level rep says.  Sales and the competition are going to be what dictates a price drop or not, and maybe hardware costs, and that stuff changes so often, that there is no way anyone from any company can firmly declare something 2 years off in the distance.
