Probrably due to Christmas Hols.-Everyone needs some time off now and then.
Well being new years day they probably took the day off to be hungover instead, man its the christmas period, if i had been expected to work over the last week then i would of expected an update, but as it where i spent new years day clutching my stomach feeling too ill from the night before.

Didn't they take this week off? I swear they told us that a hundred times... next update won't be until January 9th... I think you nailed it right there, they had off from Christmas to Newyears, and now they are preparing an update for us due out the the 8th.

I'm new to the PS3... how often does the store update? Is it weekly like the Wii? Monthly? Or is it random?roboccs
Usually the store updates once a week on Thursday evenings. But on certain occasions (like when they get off for the holidays), store updates might come on Tuesday (like the last update on December 23rd) or not at all that week.
Granted that it was New Years Day. Everyone needs a day off. But, that's just it. It was a holiday!! It would have been nice to have a day off and see something new in the store or SOME KIND of celebration in Playstation Home.
would you want to work on new years day? i wouldn't. so i understand why they didn't do an update. Probably all hung over from the wild party the night before. haha

Have to agree with you there. A least LIVE store gets updated with new content as soon as it's available and not on a specific day.If you want PS3 to be like Xbox...buy a xbox. Makes more sense than complaining how PS3 is not like xbox.

I find it funny how as soon as I say something is better on one service or system than another some people get so defensive. Honestly I can and will point out something that I think is better on LIVE if I feel the need to. That doesn't mean I want an xbox either because trust me, I had the opportunity to buy one cheap but didn't and put the money to a PS3.

I find it funny how as soon as I say something is better on one service or system than another some people get so defensive. Honestly I can and will point out something that I think is better on LIVE if I feel the need to. XD I see a lot of people just complaining and rumbling how xbox > PS3 and they still don't buy a Xbox.
I find the weekly update more smart. That way there is no danger in people not seeing newly add items. Furthermore, that way we get the impressions we get more content (although some times hte updates suck major poo)
It was new years day, give people a break. Even if they did update you would just complain on how lame the update was. Half of the people that complain that Xbox has so much more probably haven't even bought half of what is on the store, so I don't see what the problem is. Not to be mean, but get a life outside of gaming it might help. Every complains on what the PS3 doesn't have compared to the other set. No one ever says thanks for having reliable BC for the systems that have it and thanks for still supporting the older software instead cutting it off basically 3 months after the new set came out. There is no thanks for the USB slots or charger cable. You can put a PC gamepad in the system and use that as an actual controller. Stop complaining about dumb crap like no update one week out of 52.
