No Rumble Feature For PS3 Controller !!!!

"We have not added rumble [to PS3], and have no announcements regarding this feature," said Dave Karraker, Sony's director of corporate communications.

The company did acknowledge motion-sensing enhancements for the Sixaxis controller

"From time to time, we make minor enhancements to the controllers for our platforms," he said. "We recently sent out to the development community some new prototypes that have a slightly enhanced sensitivity for the analog sticks and the motion sensing within the Sixaxis controller."

"This is not a new controller, but is part of the normal development and evolution of controllers."

Phil Harrison marginalized rumble when saying, "I think [rumble] was a last generation feature; it's not a next-generation feature."

I think it would be nice to have but I guess that really isn't up to us now is it. I think they will eventually make something with it but probably not any time soon.

Good Point but some times even Sony tells the truth I just hope this is not that time lol!

Like a month ago the CEO of Sony America said that there were no future plans for a rumble feature in Sony Playstation 3 Controllers.

Wasn't there a thread about this where someone linked the patent they had for the next controller, that it was to begin selling around september or something?TelcharXI

Not to sure I just stumbled upon this and I thought I would share it. I hope it is not true though. I like both the sixaxis and the rumble

the "no annoucments regarding" line just means the dont have anything to say about it at this point and probably just waiting for the right time to announce it

I don't think it is a necessary function for all games but it sure makes the experience for Fishing games, FPS, Sports Games alot more interactive because it uses another one of your senses and some times it was used to try to scare you in some games with the combination of a good sound track. So sure its not necessary but it sure can be fun.

Rumble is a nice feature. It does feel weird playing without it. It's just nice to feel that little rumble telling you: "DUDE! You're getting flanked by that friggin' Steelhead over there! Do something about it!"

I don't know, but I like the fact that it keeps you alert and it helps you to delve into the game.

Yea that is what I am thinking but. I am not sure how they can make the sixaxis and rumble in the same controller? Maybe different games could use different features from the two controllers or maybe they will make a combo controller but I am not sure how good motion sensing would be when it is rumbling lol.

I dont miss rumble at all.

Mostly I never notice rumble, but on some games it was just annoyin (tony hawk rail grinding Im looking at you).

you needed it for mgs2 O_o. haha i really dont care either, i dont get all the hooplah for rumble, but watever floats their boats.

If they annouce something, then people would be like "oh...i'm not going to spend my money on buying a controller now, I might as well wait for when rumble is back" So I guess they want people to continue buying the normal Sixaxis's before they make the announcement. Sony didn't pay Immersion for nothing.WongB

Remember the price cut on the 60gb? Sony kept saying "This is not real" or "There are no plans for a price cut at this time". What happened? About 2 days later they confirmed a price cut. So, "No plans at this time" really means "Yea, we are making one, but we havent announced it yet. Just wait."MagMower

Yup, That was what i was thinkin as well but who knows it might throw the sixaxis all out of wack? I dunno just trhowin that out there?
