I'm trying to download Warhammer 40k, one of the free games for playstation plus. It's 6GB, I have 10GB free space. It tells me I don't have enough space and won't let me download. Anyone tell me why? I don't really want to delete anything and I already deleted several game files

I think every game needs double the space. It has to download, then install. But I'm not too sure about that.

You should consider buying a new HDD, try searching around on eBay for some cheap ones. I got mine a few years back for under $40 for a 320GB. But if you want to make best with what you have now. Go into your Game Data Utility and delete the game installs you don't want on your system.

super easy, (this is for the fat PS3's, i'm sure the slims are similar) pop the cover off. flap the metal handle out. Pull the HDD out, remove 4 blue screws. Swap with the new HDD and put everything back together. Once you turn on your PS3, I'll ask you that it needs to be reformatted. Shouldn't take anymore than a few seconds and thats it. Also make sure back your files from the old hard drive so you can transfer your data over to the new one. If you need a walk through (visual). There are a bunch of them on youtube.

Haha, yeah I opened PS+ yesterday and I got 10 free games. Surprised, but pleasantly surpirsed. InFamous 2 is great by the way, have fun :P

You can get a 500GB SATA 5400rpm 2.5 inch for about $60. Then you undo some screws and put it in and then have the latest update on a flashdrive or burned to a disc that you put in a folder called PS3 that has another folder in that one called UPDATE both in caps. This update can be downloaded from www.us.playstation.com/update

I hope you like "WarHammer 40K: Space Marine"; One of my favorite games this gen.

:D

PS - If you play "WH30K: Kiil Team" first, it unlocks the Power Sword for "Space Marine" if you finish the first level... It's a great twin-stick shooter with a TON of character (as is everything from the WH40K Universe lately.)

what kind of HDD's can you use? Can you put "faster" HDD's in your PS3 to enhance the performance?

If "faster" means a 7200 rpm rather than a 5400 rpm... then yes. I doesn't perform much different really. I would stick with the 5400 rpm variety since that's what Sony puts in them. You can also go with a SSD, but the performance isn't that much better either, and the price for SSD's doesn't justify the slight improvement.
