No it didn't get the Ylod but close to it. It still works, just the dvd/blu ray player I think isn't working. I was playing Dead Space to so yeah a game is stuck in it! The thing is, it still turns on and the menu still goes on and I can use the menu effectivly. It's just the lazer isn't reading the game inside. The game isn't appearing in the game menu so I can't eject it with the controller. When I press the eject button it just makes three beeps and does nothing. Is this easily repaired? Or do I need a new PS3?

'No it didn't get the Ylod but close to it' That's EXACTLY what I was thinking when I saw the title "Oh no, another YLOD!". It can be repaired, either send it back to Sony or find someone yourself who can replace the Bluray drive.

Send to Sony, they will either do it for free or make you pay $120-$160. Here's hoping free.

If your PS3 is still under warranty, I'd advise you to check Sony first :).

You're probably better off going to them. Idk how long Sony would take to fix it or how much they charge but I doubt it'd be for free.

My guess is the blu-ray player needs to be fixed. I took mine to a place that does repairs on game systems and it cost me $120.00 (for my 80GB B/C PS3 it was worth it) and I haven't had any problems since. Itcan take a week or maybe two weeks to fix.I've definitely limited my time on the PS3 (I told the repair shop of my lengthy gaming sessions to which they recommended I cut back juuuuuuuust a bit) I also took mine apart (just make sure you keep track of all the screws lol) to get the disc out when my copy of Assassin's Creed got stuck:P good luck!:)

is yours the 40gb model? If so you can do a fan test that should automatically eject the disc. Works on YLOD too. Not sure if it works on other models but does on the 40gb. Turn the power switch off at the back, hold your finger on eject, then switch it back on. Keep your finger held on the eject button. The fans should kick in loudly and it'll force eject the disc.
