hey all i have 720p native tv and the ps3 is set to 1080i in display settings and in like every game the games are not showing in full screen, i mean the screen is filled up with the game screen but like in virutal fighter the HUD in the bottom is a little cut off, is it because the ps3 is set to 1080i? should i set it to 720p?
try disabling 720p...you have 1080i right? so run it at that...worth a tryMiguel16
well i checked the output settings and 480p,720p and 1080i are ticked by default(i told the ps3 to check what resolutions are available and it ticked these 3) but if i untick 720p, how will resistence play? it doesnt support 1080i ?
yea it'll go down to 480i...when u wanna play resistance just tick it back onMiguel16
damn that would be hassle wouldnt it? btw is this a problem with the ps3 scaler that it doesnt show in full screen? cuz if so ill be happy cuz its said to be that they will fix most/all of the ps3's scaler's problems in the march update.

ok i didnt test VF5Â but this also happens in the Grand turismo demo, game is a little cutoff in the bottom, i tried unticking 720 and running it in 1080i and vice versa but its still cut off both in 720p and 1080i, i guess its the ps3's scaler problem?

Why wouldn't you want everything set to 720p since you have a 720p native TV? It makes no sense to have it scale to other resolutions and then be scaled to your 720p TV resolution anyways. Your TV will show in 720p no matter what is sent to it. It has a fixed pixel display -- so those pixels can't move around and change to different resolutions. The TV simply scales the image to fit the 720p resolution. The less scaling that happens, the better the picture quality will be. So set your PS3 to 720p for everything and leave it at that.

ok i did untick 1080i and now it shows everything in 720p but the picture is still not full screen i mean theres still a little cut off . what to do?
My LCD 16x10 automatically fills the screen. Plus it has options for wide, zoom, panoramic, and 1x1. So it fills nicely and I can adjust. If I change it to 1x1 it shows the black letterbox on the top/bottom. Since it goes to 16x10 to 16x9. No biggie for me though I just always have it filling the screen.
