Now sony just has to fix the scaling issue to make me totally happy with my ps3 if everything they say is true about the 1.6 update.  Is there anything else you guyz can think of that it needs.

don't forget upscaling the games also.  such a pain in the a$$.  download speed too, but it won't be much of an issue since "they say" you can download while playing games.  I'll believe it when i see it.

The reason why the Xbox 360 doesn't have the scaling issue that the PS3 has is because ATI developed a chip that does it for the 360 that does it. While for the PS3 it's handled by software, so it has to be done with every game. Since it's a Blu-Ray Disc game companies could just have different textures for the different resolutions and still fit in one disc, but I guess they're too lazy. For the 360 almost all games are developed for just 720p, that's why some games (Capcom games *cough*) when played on SDTV the text becomes  too small to read and it's hard to see small details.

I think they should also need an update to allow custom music playback while in a game.  Also they should update the XMB so you could group your music and videos into folders (ie: organization) that you would create.  So if you have thousands of mp3's you can make it easier to locate a song or video.  Voice chat for all games would be cool too.

As far as the music thing goes....even a search function would be nice where you type in a phrase and it brings up all songs that have that phrase.

I agree for music, photos and videos they need some folders structure. Also for music they need to have a specialized browser/player so you can look at and play music easily like iTunes.

Did you plug your IPOD directly into one of the USB ports? When I did it, it didn't recognize it (I have a nano).

Make sure disc use is enabled. That's all I can think of.

Yeah but not everybody owns an ipod.  You should be able to create the same structure w/ your files using the PS3's XMB.

It completely boggles the mind why Sony would include a scaling circuit, but NOT develop any firmware for it until long after launch.

HUGE COSIGN. the crappy online and the poor menu system, as well as not being able to really customize the dashboard or music sucks. the best thing bout the 360 is playing my own music over a game without using a seperate stereo!
