Now this is ridiculous.

Every time i see an article talking about this guy Patcher that's supposed to be a videogame annalist it end making making me laugh. I was on gonintendo.com and there was an article about him telling that the PS3 and the competition need to be priced lower than 199.99 for hardware sales to peak. This is the same guy that's been telling Nintendo will may launch a HD console each year. My gosh he thinks he knows everything.

I don't know if i am wrong but man some people think every console needs to cost $99.99. Personally i don't see the PS3 getting a price drop to $99.99 or even $149.99. For a PS3 to be $99.99 i must be very unreliable using the cheapest components available in the market. I thinks it may be possible to see a $199.99 PS3 when the PS4 or whatever it may be called arrives or get announced but not later. This gen Playstation have many features with many uses unlike pass gen consoles.

In the end i think gamers should focuse in getting the PS3 if they want and have the money instead of be waiting to see price drops because the longer you wait the sooner the new system will arrives and replace it.

Remember that Kevin Butler TV add,dont believe everything you read on the internet. That guy needs to watch it lol. The tactic is now hitting the family market like the nintendo wii did and Microsoft and Sony are following. Personally I think montion gaming sucks. Stick to controllersfusionhunter

He has a show on GameTrailers, and he actually predicted that the former employers would make a deal with EA.

But I don't agree with everything he says.

I really had to laugh when he was shocked - SHOCKED! - that Mafia 2 and Kane & Lynch 2 didn't carry the month's sales very well. And the iPhone is taking away all the Wii's customers I guess? Whatever. I can only assume that the guy is an "expert" on about 500 different industries, as that's the only way I can imagine him having such a superficial knowledge of the video game industry.

I don't watch Pach Attack or anything, but I like Pachter. Analysts can't be right all of the time and he has an enjoyable yet grounded personality that makes him fun to listen to whether it be on a Gametrailers Round Table or podcast.

Yes they can increase sales but that's not the most important think in the videogame business. I see it this way: as time passes technology goes down in price like the graphics and cpu chipsets but in order to drop the price of a console like the PS3 drastically to $99.99 a lot of different components from the inside and out would need to be changed with lower quality ones. I'd had one of the early PS3 models and now that i have PS3 slim i can clearly see that Sony is using cheaper materials like:

1. Cheap plastic for these new models of consoles and controllers.

2. The buttons of the dualshock that now comes with them feels cheaper and doesn't have the clicky fell of the older ones.'

3. They removed the touch on and off and the power switch on the back of the unit.

4. They removed the SD card slots and BC with PS2.

5. If you look online you will find that the early PS3 Slims and some of the later have one brand of cooling fan that suppressed the sound while the ones that have the other brand have a louder pitch noise because the fan doesn't suppressed the sound it emits. Some are DELTA and some are NIDEK.

Companies like Sony get the most money when publishers pay them to be able to create and launh games and all the games, accessories and dlc people buy. And with all the money Sony has invested and losed in the creation of the PS3 how should people like this guy tell it needs to be priced lower than $199.99.
