January is a down month for almost everything. Most people went over their budget in december so they don't spend much in January.
I can't wait to see the sales in march :
- A million sold in europe on launch day + probably some more on the 30 if they get a second shipment a week after like some stores in the US. - Many people will probably buy a PS3 when games such as Motorstorm comes out, not to mention all the other great games, but Motorstorm is probably the best exclusive PS3 game coming out. But I'm sure as hell getting God Of War 2 that I'll play on my PS3. - Gundam musou will probably be very popular in japan (Gundam is very popular and so is Dynasty Warriors, so the both together will probably be a great combo), and it comes out in March as well.
Since the 360 only saw a total of 294000 respectable sales in January, and the PS3 (200 bucks more) sole 243000.. We finally see the PS3 gaining the momentum of its forefathers!! All this with NO games coming out until the recently released Virtua Fighter 5 (which hopefully will become an exclusice again thanks to so many PS3s sold now). I can't wait to see how February's sales are with VF5, and especially march with Motorstorm and (hopefully) Heavenly Sword!!!

Great site. Its not that bad looking for PS3 when you think that the PS3 is only out in two zone. The Wii will run away with the sales, but people will get bored. As for the 360. Under 10millon in over a year, and how meny are re-buys becouse of broken 360. Na once the games start rolling and the price starts sliding PS3 will be sitting at the top of the tree come xmax...
Thanks for the information. I agree that things don't look so bad for the PS3. It is a good sign that the consoles are still selling despite Christmas splurges and lacking software releases in January. Â
God of War 2 is gonna go crazy in sales. For one, the original was one of the most popular PS2 games and everyone with a PS2 wants to get the final "great" game for the system. Plus, a ton of PS3 owners are going to buy it since the PS3 has been starved of games.
VG is indeed a good site but remember its only as accurate as the sales info released and thats "after the sales". So it may say 2million, but it might have sold 2.1 etc. Im guessing the PS3 will be at around 3 to 3.5million by the end of april.
I love how the PS3 is virtually double the sales of the 360 in Japan. That can only help us get some more great releases from the Japan video game makers. The Wii is still ahead, but its a novelty console IMHO.
